I’m surprised the EFL think their member clubs can afford to play behind closed doors. If this is the case why didn’t they finish last season ?

There’s obviously a lot of discussion/ argument between club representatives going on behind closed doors about this , and maybe some clubs are growing tired of other clubs calling the shots over the rest of the league ?

I never understood why last season wasn't completed, this makes it even more stupid if true.

I think the unknown is the only answer to that. News (whether exaggerated or not) coming out of China, Italy, Spain was too alarming. Had they started again too early and it got worse, (unknown) then they’d have been hauled over the coals big time and the legal cases would be incredible. Endangering life etc etc. Classic case of “can’t do it right for getting it wrong”. Difficult.

Hearing reports from scientists regarding the Hemispheres...... Melbourne being in complete lockdown and the southern Hem is being hit hard etc etc. What about USA in the Northern Hem? It’s getting out of control there again.

In a nutshell....... scientists haven’t got a reality grip on it either.

It’s confirmed now : Sept 12th is the start date . I’m trying not to think of the issues surround the failure to complete last season ... it was a farce .

Anyway season 20/21 starts in about 5-6 weeks time ...👍

at least it's some sort of confirmation if nothing else. Can't see crowds returning three weeks into a new season. Caught some televised action just recent, explained why hadn't shown much interest before it. No fans present, clear audible shouts from the bench / stadium personnel and artificial crowd cheers, it wasn't up to much, just devoid of any real atmosphere. All right the situation can't be helped right now but kind of felt like attending a Stones concert without Jagger and Richards.

What possibility of a second wave hitting the UK later this year and further lockdown i.e. games and fixtures in disarray. All hypothetical but you got to put the question out there. Most want a return to "normality" but don't know when or where it will truly arrive as once before. Say again not really missing the game as yet although part of you feels compeled towards a return to action, game involvement as it should be et cetera.
