Clinical is the only way to describe the first half. All three goals well taken strikes. Hawkins missed the easiest chance.
I think they should be down to 10 men terrible tackle with studs up below the knee of I can’t remember who

Strange first half. In no ways we are playing that well, but just doing a job at either end. And being pretty clinical. I thought it might have a foul to them prior to Bishop’s goal, but he took it well. It seems like every shot we have goes in. Not pretty most of the time, but we’re working hard.
I hope we don’t slack off. Edwards looks sharp on the left.

We have been clinical 4 shots 3 goals. They have had half chances. Toto’s a liability with his distribution so is Holy. We gift possession to much but we are 3-0 up.

Defending very well. A few loose balls and not entirely convincing but great to be 3 up. First goal was wonderful move and finish. Second and third....I think we would criticise our keeper if he let them in. Beaten at the near post for the Second, and the third lacked real power. But so good to see the goals going in. They seemed to stop expecting a free kick.
Kenlock is doing Ok, we seem this season to help and support each other better. Huws hasn't impressed me much if I'm honest.
Blackpool were unravelling by half time. Lots of fouls, some a bit nasty.
Let's have a couple more second half.

Re: Blackpool FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Made a last minute decision to watch which has been more than vindicated.
Ipswich looking well organised, comfortable and clinical (the Hawkins half chance apart) when a chance has come their way. Three very good goals scored.
If i am nit-picking (and yes it really is only that), was wondering if Holy forgot his boots and found an old Andy Marshall pair to put on! . Blackpool have offered very little and on this evidence look set to struggle this season.

11 January this year with Accrington I reckon, game finished 4 - 1 to us that day.
Regards today wasn't expecting to be so far ahead at this stage, game is safe surely ? Odd thing is stats indicate they've had more possession and chances on goal than ourselves.
Lo and behold they got one back it now says ? Better focus a bit in this second period don't want to throw away such a commanding lead.

4-1. Needed that. Great ball from Chambers, but what control and finish from Edwards

Very professional win. Defending and finishing was the difference today. Edwards was very good. If only Toto could pass he can certainly defend. Jackson 's pace up front is useful. Nice 3pts.

Re: Blackpool FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Sorry but i did not see anything from Toto which would make him a "total liabilty". Maybe a single stray pass, but Huws and Holy were far, far worse. Toto was an absolute rock for me. Won every header, played a blinding crossfield pass along with two cracking interceptions again.derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 3:54 pmWe have been clinical 4 shots 3 goals. Sadly Nsiala's form last season is being used against him. Likewise the Chambers (and while you could argue that he played a part in their goal) haters will no doubt have been silenced by his cracking strike too.
I guess it is all about opinions, and while Toto has given cause for concern for me, he is in that first 11 totally deservedly.

Re: Blackpool FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
The first and last goals were wonderful. Dont think we were at our best but definitely more convincing than last season.
Have to agree with Derrick; a windy day but Holy's kicking was poor.
If someone had said to me before the start of the season that we would play Chambers and Kenlock as full backs with Nsiala in the middle, I'd have said we'd get hammered. Admittedly there are much tougher tests to come but we are defending very well.
