Lol no it’s not but we seem to only want build from the back ( where ever we are on the pitch ).

Was just typing and going to add that neither side had looked great in the 10 minutes i had seen. Sunderland looked comfortable and rhen up popped Lankester lol.

Last 15 mins we actually looked the more likely side, started so poorly though but their goal looked yards offside. We can win this if we carry on the way we ended the half.

last 10 minutes was more like it - but that in no way explains the first 35

Ponderous first half hour. Slip from McGuiness but Ward should be goal side imo.

Re: Sunderland AFC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Passing backwards doesn't worry me, better than conceding possession. But it is far too frequent. I still wondering it's a lack of vision, lack of control, lack of confidence or insufficient movement off the ball. That sounds negative but if it's lack of movement it's easily solved.
Once we scored we seemed to play with more confidence. Could go either way.....

only Ipswich can have a free kick just inside the opponents half, and with 2 passes have the ball back with the goalkeeper. Pathetic

I think we did that in the first half too. That’s what I meant when I said we seem to only to be able build from the back outwards no matter where we are on the pitch . It’s very regimented isn’t it .

Time to bring on Hawkins and Bennetts, and take off the ineffective Jackson and the equally ineffective and totally rubbish Judge

Jackson is ineffective but he had no real service. But he will never be a lone striker.

Jackson's first touch is poor.

Judge has been quite off tonight, seems slow. Not really producing anything

I’ve never looked on him as a dirty player. Could make the final 20 mins difficult.

How was that a penalty? Toto headed it outwards 2 yards onto McGuinesses arm or hand. Like that was deliberate handball.

I'm afraid that third tier football means 3rd tier refs. Moral of the story - dont get relegated to the third tier
