Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
He certainly does look at bit dour, a bit Wayne Rooney-ish, but I enjoyed that interview...... looks like he could be a very good addition that can help Ipswich out.
And if like aforementioned Rooney...... even better.
Good luck to you, pal.

Good enough for Doncaster who will probably win this league, but not good enough for us, hilarious really.

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Wow. This is like a sign of a season 2020/21 surrender scenario. Why would Nolan go to Posh? Makes no sense.

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Want to see any incoming player do well. Just hoping Parrott is more at home in League 1, as he seemed out of his depth in the Championship, if the comments on a Millwall fan's forum are anything to go on.

One player, yes possibly not lone striker material, who has dropped off the radar: what has happened with Tyreece Simpson?

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Depressing reading from the fans of a very depressing and irritating club.
I did like , quote, "He can put the kettle on at the training ground."......, that raised a chuckle.

Wolves right back on loan does that mean KVY is still a long way off he was supposed to play a under 23s game this week.

Have a feeling we won’t see KVY play in the first team again.Kerry Blue wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 8:27 pmWolves right back on loan does that mean KVY is still a long way off he was supposed to play a under 23s game this week.

Anyone else get the feeling this is coming across very much as a desperate , last chance saloon window for Lambert ( and the Club)?

Anyone else get the feeling there’s something else going on with KVY other than an “ injury”?
It feels a bit like another Town player( who we got from Rotherham) who never played again , he’s left us now and isn’t playing football anymore ) ...but I can’t think if his name atm .

This guy is a good signing, was impressed when I saw him up at Rochdale, happy with that.
And yes KVY is finished

Your last point AM, is exactly what I mean when I say it seems like a desperate window for Lambert and the club. All appears very last chance saloon to me .AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 7:47 pmWant to see any incoming player do well. Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Personally I think we've done quite well. We needed a striker. Regardless of KVY's fitness, we've needed another defender. And Harrop and Thomas are decent additions to the squad.
Don't forget, only 5 loan players allowed in the matchday squad.

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Lambert two seasons ago ...
....” You can’t keep doing that, you have to have your own team of players here and maybe one or two loans, I get that, but not an influx, it’s very difficult to sustain that”.
So how many loanees have we got now ? It FD I ds me of the tail end of McCarthy’s reign here.......

6 loans now but we can only play 5, Lambert will say we can't buy anyone so we had to get loans in.

Did Lambert not say you can’t build a team around loanees when he came here ?

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
He did say that. He also said a year ago that formations don’t matter - yet he’s stuck stubbornly to one system that isn’t working. He says a lot of things which are contradictory.
These loan signings feel like the last throw of the dice - an act of desperation.
And that’s six loanees now - and you can only have five in the squad.

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
I suppose the biggest contradiction is the fact he still says he knows what he is doing

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
But does he believe it himself? You just feel this is all about him clinging onto that bloody contract.
I’ll give a bit of credit to Evans - he’s certainly backing Lambert. Crazy as it may seem. Lambert can’t complain Marcus isn’t offering him support. I can’t believe that Evans continues to keep on putting his hand in his pocket to pay for more and more players. Just stinks of desperation whereby there’s that hope that we can stumble upon a winning formula.

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Your earlier post says it smacks of desperation & I fully agee with you. I just do not understand though why Evans appears to still be backing his his manager. Nothing seems to make sense to me at all.tangfastic wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:04 amBut does he believe it himself? You just feel this is all about him clinging onto that bloody contract.

And as for stumbling on a winning formula: not a hope in hell. It's 4-3-3 all the way.
What a dreadful state we are in.

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Sadly the very fact Lambert has been allowed to bring in Four new faces says to me he's going nowhere anytime soon, how depressing is that. As Billy says, what a state we are in.

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
do you know , whatever we feel about Evans , he has always given his managers "time2 hasn't he. I suspect there's many reason why he's giving P[L time too.tangfastic wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:04 amBut does he believe it himself? 1: He actually buys into the plan he and PL and his team have been brought here to do ...ie work from the bottom up to re build the club.
2: Contractual pressures , eg the 2 years clause hasn't been triggered yet , and isn't therefore willing to pay out compo to PL ...or perhaps another clause ( Top 6 at end of season) hasn't been triggered yet?
But as has been suggested the fact that Evans is funding these new arrivals suggests that PL does have the owners backing for now ….
Oh well it is what it is ...I just hope he's ready for the ST backlash , if/ when we don't get promoted .

Re: Jan 2021 Transfer Window
Too right BM and it gets FKing Chambers away from the RB position he's not suited too, but knowing Lambert he will play the lad at LB or a winger DOH
