Re: Ipswich Town vs Oxford United Preview & Matchday Thread
We are with doubt the best team today so far. Done everything bar score . Should be 3-0 to Town. We look far more experienced snd getting the ball forward quickly is our Oxford on the back foot snd having to defend . Norwood and Parrott are playing almost like two up front imo .
Not sure any Town subs are going to improve us today tbh

WE are starting to sit back now. We aren’t closing them down as quickly up front

He maybe doing ok Mike but I don’t think Troy Parrott is the answer to our goal scoring drought. Today is something like his 15th senior appearance and he’s yet to score his first goal, 11 appearances at Millwall without a goal suggests it’s not just Ipswich where he’s struggled. Our only hope is that once he scores his first a hat full come along.

.....and Northampton have put a third past MK Dons, maybe our 0-0 midweek wasn’t so bad after all.

Subs coming on now , Towns threat is over for today Imo... I just hope Oxford don’t nick a very undeserved win . They’ve offered nothing most of the game .

Maybe Lambert happy with a point, I’d have taken that ahead of the game.

Wilson has been steady defensively but Toto has done that and played some good balls forward, been impressed with him today.

Well I didn't expect a win so performance wise much much better, however slipping further behind the playoff places and this game shows we can't beat top teams even when we deserve to. Lambert has to go im afraid.

Much better performance . More experience in the side showed . Plus TWO players almost in a strike partnership. We should have won this game at least 3-0. They only came into it once our better players withered tired and : or came off.
Keep the same side for Tuesday .
Oh and finally #lambertout

Wilson and Nsiala were very good today. Should now be 1st choice central defenders. Wilson was the best player for us on the pitch.Bennets really didnt do anything, Parrots tried his best but wasnt effective. Norwood created a lot of problems but just couldnt get the finishing tou ch- so close.
Maybe all is not yet lost. Mcguiness or Wolfenden alonside Wilson orNsiala but they shouldnt be the two starters. We looked so much better today.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Oxford United Preview & Matchday Thread
Were too busy through game time to take notice of what occurred only got eventual score a moment ago. Reading through one or two replies here was under the impression we had won by a single goal, it were the first place to check score, lo and behold there was no winner and we get a second no score draw in seven days. Don't know, kind of expected to lose today. We don't win very often without question so guess it's whichever way you want to view it.
Point against a team that has done well thus far above in the league etc, other side of the coin the poor home record continues and be realistic here any chance their was of making the top six by end of season has most likely passed after today. I look at the league as standard but to all intents and purposes it's all but immaterial now.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Oxford United Preview & Matchday Thread
Thought that we played pretty well today. Shame we faded in the last quarter or so and I think that are choice of substitutes made us less of a threat.
Maybe I haven't seen enough of Drinian but he doesn't look ready for this level yet and as for Freddie...
Harrop looked ok and to his credit made a great block at the very end of the game but still didn't really add anything. Jackson and Nolan would have been far more dangerous in my view-yes Jackson made a stupid tackle but he hasn't been the only one this season. And what has happened to Nolan?
Speaking of stupid tackles, it didn't look like we missed Downes too much either-Bishop and Dozzell did ok and weren't outmuscled in the middle. Far happier watching Holy hoof it out from goal kicks too as we seemed to pick up loads of second balls from those kicks and ending up in decent positions. All in all, glad I watched that one!

I enjoyed Mick Mills comment just on half-time about Bennets, 'step over, step over, fall over.'
Very appropriate.

This performance hinted at what we could be. If we consistently performed like this we'd be prime candidates for a push to be in the play offs. A very frustrating season.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Oxford United Preview & Matchday Thread
Got some highlights in but they don't show much particularly with a game with no score. Read some response on a rival site and general consensus was fans not enthralled even with a point. May have been a more encouraging performance from some other games this season but we didn't score and that seems to be too evident whenever we take to the field. Unable to find reaction from Lambert did he speak out after today ? In truth apart from the team showing a touch more determination and effort maybe there wasn't much to discuss from what occurred out there.
I think we have one or two players that can make a difference, some of the loan kids seemed to impress today but there's a lot of uncertainties and imminent issues what with the manager and ownership. I think maybe the players went out and put that aside, they realize a promotion won't happen so they played with that particular pressure off.

Indeed SJ, only 5 teams have scored fewer times than town this season. Not great from a team masterminded by a champions league winning great!!
