The Grand National is a National Hunt horse race held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, England. First run in 1839, it is a handicap steeplechase over an official distance of about 4 miles and 2½ furlongs (4 miles 514 yards (6.907 km)), with horses jumping 30 fences over two laps.[2] It is the most valuable jump race in Europe, with a prize fund of £1 million in 2017.[3] An event that is prominent in British culture, the race is popular amongst many people who do not normally watch or bet on horse racing at other times of the year.[4]

Re: GRAND NATIONAL 2021 Competition
A great method on picking your horse.
TIP 1 /Ideally what you’re looking for is a Grand National 2021 Runner that is carrying 11-00 or less, who is 9, 10 or 11 years old. Generally, when online betting, avoid the favourites and look for those who are priced between 14/1 and 33/1 and who have at least three seasonal runs, with extra consideration for those who have won or placed at 3 miles or more. Tiger Roll was the exception, not the rule.
Or my own method
TIP 2 / simply tear up the stats and pick a runner because you like its name!

Re: GRAND NATIONAL 2021 Competition
I'm in the last time I had a bet in the Grand National was 1981 and I backed the winner Aldaniti, working in a betting shop i hated the race, we would maybe take a thousand bets and every year a once a year punter would come up to collect his winnings as soon as the race finished even though all over the shop it said pay out after 5pm the race was started around 3pm in those days, I would get a big pile of betting slips and say I do it now if you can tell me which one is yours.
I remember one year almost every bookmaker had a wonderful National but not my shop a regular customer had £50ew at 66/1 and £50ew at starting price the winner which was the 1985 winner Last Suspect. If i remember right he gave me £50 which was good in those days.

17 TOP ODDS,
Cloth Cap...………………….10/3
Threw his hat in the Grand National ring with an assertive 10-length victory in the Ladbrokes Chase at Newbury in November, and enhanced his claims further when bolting up in listed event at Kelso in March. A tilt at the Grand National will be high on his agenda, particularly given his owner and trainer’s history with the race, and must have a big chance.
Any Second Now......….10/1
Former Kim Muir winner at Cheltenham Festival, ended last season with a win in a Grade 3 chase at Naas, impressively handling the drop back to 2m. Campaigned over hurdles on first two starts of season before being pulled up in handicap chase at Gowran in January. Probably best not judged too harshly on that though and could prove suited by extreme conditions, stamina always looking a strong suit of his.
Burrows Saint......……..12/1
Very smart chaser who completed a hat-trick in maiden at Gowran, Grade 3 novice at Limerick and Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse in 2018/29. Has been campaigned over hurdles both starts back this season, shaping better than distance beaten suggests when sixth in John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran last time, and should be primed for a bold showing in this year’s Grand National
Kimberlite Candy........14/1
Smart handicap chaser who won Classic Chase at Warwick in 2019/20 and ran perfectly well to finish second in Becher chase at Aintree on return from 11 months in December, filling the runner-up spot for the second successive year. Sound jumper in the main and remains one to be positive about, particularly if the mud is flying.
Minella Times...………….12/1
Showed improved form to make a successful return in Listowel handicap in September, deserving of extra credit for coming from the rear, and has improved further in two subsequent outings, finishing runner-up in valuable events at Leoparstown last two starts. Progressing by the run and rates a major player if stamina holds up.
Secret Reprieve...……...14/1
A low-mileage chaser who emphatically landed the Welsh Grand National trial at Chepstow in December, before following up in the real thing the following month, justifying strong support in impressively straightforward fashion. Still a novice and remains open to improvement. Hard to rule out.
Silk colours for THE STORYTELLER (IRE), trained by and owned by
Magic Of Light...………...20/1
Very smart chaser who won listed mares event at Newbury in December, completing a simple enough task with barely a moments worry, always controlling the race and sure to have won even had her closest pursuer not blundered her chance away. Found only Roksana too good in Grade 2 mares’ hurdle at Ascot in January and will presumably have the Grand National as her main target, after finishing second in 2019.
Potters Corner...………...25/1
Winner of Midlands Grand National in 2018/19 and Welsh Grand National in 2019/20, finished a respectable third on return on less than ideal ground in Cheltenham cross country in November. Not seen to best effect over hurdles since but no denying his staying power and could bounce back to his best at Aintree.
.
Easysland............……..28/1
.
Bristol De Mai...…………. 25/1
Top-class chaser who won the Betfair Chase at Haydock for the third time in November, proving himself as good as ever in outstaying his rivals, and he found only Native River too good in the Cotswold Chase at Sandown in February, His stamina is yet to be tested over marathon trips but there is a chance that such a test could suit.
.
The Storyteller...……….. 22/1
.
Acapella Bourgeois...…. 25/1
Very smart chaser who proved at least as good as ever in landing Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse for the second year in a row in February, albeit seen to maximum effect the way things went. Front runner who races prominently and will arrive at Aintree with plenty of ticks in the right boxes.
Ajas…………………………….. 28/1
Winner of four of his seven races in France this season, successful in minor hurdle events at Clairefontaine in May and Pau in December, and in chase events at Auteuil in October and Group 3 Grand Prix de Pau in January. Finished second in listed hurdle at Pau last time. Has a bit to prove.
Farclas..................….33/1
Farclas Took extremely well to chasing last season, winning all three starts, and has shaped well on all three starts this term, including when 3 ½ length fourth to Off You Go in Leopardstown Handicap Chase last time, doing well to lead briefly despite a mistake at the second last. Looks to be on a good mark and rates highl
Anibale Fly...…………….. 33/1
Top-class chaser whose best effort came when second to Al Boum Photo in Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2018/29. Struggled for form last season, failing to beat home a rival over fences, though did take a step back in right direction when third in Naas hurdle in March 2020. Yet to race this season and currently more posing more questions than answers.
Brahma Bull.........……..33/1
Smart chaser who won three times in 2019/20, including Grade 3 novice at Cork, but failed to complete last twice, unseating at Tramore and pulled up at Gowran. A big field looked too much for him last time which doesn’t bode well for a Grand National tilt.
Lake View Lad...…….....33/1
Very smart handicap chaser who won Many Clouds Chase at Aintree in December, knuckling down well to assert his dominance over Santini and Native River, but failed to confirm that form when fifth in the Cotswold Chase at Sandown in February. Immediately put on the back foot by the standing start in the 2019 renewal of this race and can have that run forgiven. Sound jumper who could prove suited by the marathon trip.

Re: GRAND NATIONAL 2021 Competition
The maximum grand national field is 40 runners and riders and the full number of horses are likely to start the 2021 Grand National unless there are any late withdrawals. As well as the 40 runners being confirmed on the Thursday before Grand National day, reserves are also listed at this stage which can take the place of any horses which are withdrawn over night.

BREAKING NEWS;
BOOKIES have slashed the odds AGAIN on Rachael Blackmore winning the Grand National.
Cloth Cap remains the strong favourite but bookies think Minella Times, who Blackmore is set to ride, will battle the main fancy for favouritism on the day.
And the horse - previously 14-1 - is now just 12-1 to win the big one, with Cloth Cap 7-2.
Honest Wolfie's Hot Tip ; Kimberlite Candy. is now at .12-1.
Honest Wolfie's Each Way Hot Shot, Yala Enki 40/1. with jockey Bryony Frost confident Yala Enki can prove equally effective on a quicker surface when attempting to help her become the first female rider to win the Randox Grand National at Aintree.

You stole my winner, Wolfie.
KIMBERLITE CANDY £10 WIN
MINELLA TIMES £5 EW
THE STORYTELLER £5 EW
MISTER MALARKY £5 EW
Good luck all......., and a bit of advice......., do not "real life" gamble on the winner I have chose. Only ever chose a national winner once in my life....., Hedgehunter.
So err, Wolfie....., if you're thinking about CANDY for a REAL bet......., don't, buddy!

Re: GRAND NATIONAL 2021 Competition
£40 win on this one, Wolfie. Apparently he's promised to get his act together before Saturday.
