Wow. Thank you Town's youngsters for restoring some pride in the Ipswich Town shirt. That was an enthralling encounter, huge credit to the Blades too for their part in a really enjoyable spectacle.

What a cracking game! Went a long way for making up for all the rubbish we have had to sit through this season. Bodes well for the future.

The so called first team should have been made to watch you never know they might have learnt something.

What a fantastic result, well done lads, some would have us believe the Academy is pointless.

The first team should be made to watch that and realise what pride in the shirt and winning is all about.

Totally agree Mike. Must admit it felt nice to have something to be proud of regarding Ipswich Town, if only our first team could show even half that level of determination they would be scoring and picking up more points.

Thanks for the highlights! Brilliant how they pressed forward with players in the box. Positional play well maintained...no headless chickens. Baggot looked like a giant haha! Well done!

Even before this, I'm really excited about Elkan Baggott, all too often we big up kids but he looks the real deal the limited amount I've seen of him, and the fact clubs have already been checking him out is reason for optimism.

Town’s FA Youth Cup semi-final against Liverpool at Portman Road will be played on Wednesday 12th May with a 6pm kick-off and will be shown live on BT Sport 1.

The Blues’ U18s secured their place in the last four via last Friday’s brilliant 3-2 after-extra-time victory over Sheffield United.

Town are the only non-Premier League club and category two academy still in the competition.

The winners of next Wednesday’s tie will face either Aston Villa or West Brom in the final.

Town have previously won the FA Youth Cup on three occasions, in 1973, 1975 and 2005.
