Ah well, that's it. One to go at Portman Road, midday, Sunday. Hopefully Cookie can fire a rocket up their arses and have the Ipswich faithful looking forward to parting with Season Ticket cash, although got to reckon no one G'sAF about the Fleetwood game. I would've been tuned in to this Sunday but unfortunately rearranging the Spice Rack into alphabetical order. The close season will be welcomed by many ITFC supporters.
Clear them all out, including the fat bloke......., start over.

At least win, lose or draw can see players wanting to do their best for themselves and for the club

YES...., definitely. That is something everyone will be looking forward to. It's a great achievement by the young lads. A welcome break from "The Charlatans".Steve and Jo wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 9:05 pmMore looking forward the FA Youth Cup semi final being honest Marko

Interesting that Ian Atkins feels Norwood not good enough to lead the line next season . Bench player to bring on for the scrappy games to bully the opposition.
He wasn’t impressed with Parrott either. Says the Shrews on loan Blackburn # 10 had far more impact coz he was always on the move and creating things. This player is on a free in the summer apparently.
He feels Downes and Dozzell , Bishop must add goals to their game . States Downes and Dozzell could benefit from experience , physicality around them .
He’d have McGuinness back if it was possible ..
Very open ( too open?) post match interview by KDyer right now ...

He's right about Norwood but strange how he was really impressed with Parrott Saturday when he came on, changed his tune a bit.

Re: Shrewsbury Town vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Kieron Dyer's thoughts, exactly what I alluded to last night, however small it is atm you can see the Paul Cook influence starting in certain areas. The 41-year-old believes the team is starting to look more like a Paul Cook side: “Yes, 100 per cent. In a way, he doesn’t show respect to the opposition, it’s all about us, us, us.
“He wants to dominate the ball, he wants to create chances, he wants the ball put in the box, he wants people in the box.
“Like I said, for the six or seven weeks I’ve been involved with the first team, we haven’t been seeing that.
“He changed his beliefs, they always talk about managers and their identity. He went to three at the back which pained him, but he thought we still had a chance of the play-offs so he adjusted to the players rather than the players adjusting to him. I thought he deserved some credit for that.
“But then when he realised that that wasn’t working he obviously went back to what he believed. He came out with some strong words for the players. Some people say it was very harsh, but that’s the way it was.

We do tend to do that. Get to the edge of the box and then try and pass too much, when a quick cross or shot would be better. Good to see KVY at least trying to inject some pace and get behind the fullbacks a few times. I thought Kenlock was pretty good and got forward a lot. Too many of his crosses were too floaty though. and easy to cut out. He needs to whip those balls in at pace.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 8:50 pmWe dither on the edge of their box when a quickly executed cross would probably result in a goal . I think it’s confidence. I think Kenlock could keep going to the by line snd take the full back on . Once he’s in that box they’re not going to want to tackle him . Pulling a cross back from the by line is very hard to defend against in that 6 yard area . I hope they can get him to do this .. or maybe sign Garbutt ( who is free in the summer ) to play in-front of Kenlock. I think Garbutt would be good wide left don’t you ?

Re: Shrewsbury Town vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
I think Dyer is touting for the Assistant managers role . Personally I don’t think he’s got anywhere near enough experience at senior level for that . He should have spent the last two season at a league two club getting that , imo.
Can PC really run that risk next season when he will definitely have to produce the results ? The very fact KD sits in awe of PC and how he operates with the 4th official and that he’s learned more in 7 weeks ..... etc says to me KD is not ready / yet , for that job . I’m not saying his not good to go in the future , just thst now I’d not the time to use rookies. Every person being brought into this vlub now has very tangible experience and skill sets that have been honed over a few years ... Dyer had on his cv “ managed U16, assisted with U18 and U23’s . “
How would people feel if the owners recruited someone with just that in their cv ? They’d be uproar wouldnt there !

As I've stated before, I wouldn't want us to hand Dyer any position of responsibility or seniority, he doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

I can’t believe we played last night and it was completely off my radar for the first time in 60 years. Hopefully I’ll rekindle enthusiasm in the summer when Cookie starts his rebuilding programme.

Re: Shrewsbury Town vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Would like to have got involved in this but wasn't possible. Truth told only got the result within the last hour. First reaction one of surprise another no score draw came to pass. Thought there would be goals in it and after the Swindon score thought could see out the last few games with something of a revival.
Seems the team played poor once again, can understand that as there's f*ck all left in a season to play for and many names here are headed for the departure door in terms of rebuilding but would have been something to try for a concentrated effort and give something back to the fans after yet nine months of near total ineptitude.
Think there's only one game remaining now, sad in a sense to see it end as you'll miss the response aspects of it and interaction even though without question people have been let down once again and nothing to show for our 'efforts' at a business end of a season.
