How many new players will PC bring in over the summer ?
How many new players do you think Paul Cook will bring in over the summer ?
For an extra challenge, name one player you think will join us between now and the start of the season.
It will be interesting to see if anyone can get this right.

I'll say Connolly
I Just feel he was happy here, and would be a great addition

Before yesterday, I would have said 10+. Not so certain now.

I've gone for Eight new signings which is pretty decent and would certainly revamp the starting Eleven. As to naming someone wow that's tough, I'll think about that one for the time being.

I've gone for 4 only - as on one hand I think the number of expected signings has been way over-hyped, and on the other I think with the number of players we have after the 'cull' of yesterday we don't need too many more to get up to what PC thinks is a comfortable squad size.
I expect we will get Connolly, and also Jordan Rhodes

Ive gone for 7.
I can see others leaving... Maybe Woolfie, Downes, Jackson and a.n.other (dozzell). I can bids coming in for our 2 better players (downes, dozzell).
That would make 7 an about accurate number with squad size restrictions.

Five new proper quality signings in the door before August hopefully.
And really hoping that of the entire lot, Flynn Downes is offered enough to stay and play another season before being sold next season for £40M.
Covers balls before also saying........ Myles Kenlock ———>> keep!
In a good side, he’d shine..... and he’d put crossed balls on a plate for a non steak bake muncher to actually finish.

Re: How many new players will PC bring in over the summer ?
I'd hope for about eight or nine but that's wishful thinking, can't see as many coming on board. Imagine four or five new additions would be more realistic. Set yourself a sensible target in way of expectation. There's been some names offloaded in the last 48 hours we'll get to that in a minute but even now what remains just simply doesn't look good enough if all the hype and "what we're going to do" is to be a reality next season.
None of the forward names we got are hardly prolific or contribute enough. Norwood finds goal but too seldom, would like Parrott to stay on another year as many seem to give it good reviews. Not sure what Jackson and Drinan bring to the team. Yes they're there to score goals but don't hear too much about their exploits or just don't seem to find goal enough times like they should.

Not sure why I can’t actually “ vote”. There’s nowhere to choose
Anyway , I’m going for “ more than 10 “ players . There are no players to speak of left at this club and those that are , are on the transfer list . So it’s got to be more than 10 coming in .

I’m not sure what’s happened Liz as the “Poll” appears to have disappeared. Maybe someone reading this will be able to help find it and reinstate it.hallamblue wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 7:53 amNot sure why I can’t actually “ vote”. There’s nowhere to choose

Re: How many new players will PC bring in over the summer ?
Tried it and was able to submit a vote. Believe it may be an issue with your choice of say 'new fangled technology implement' Some features may not work on some applications.
Tried News Now a moment ago to see if anything listed regards us bringing anyone in or lined up but nothing to be had. Some insist to expect nothing until Ashton arrives in a true capacity in a few days from now although wouldn't have thought that would be an obstacle to go out and do some business. Still very early in terms of the season ending (and) there is ample time ahead to bring in a number of additions. There won't be substantial money to spend, not in League One anyhow, but it's essential Cook and his backroom staff get the players in with the right attitude, ambition and will to succeed.

Looks like we failed to have a consensus with 4 votes each for 5, 6, 7 and 8 new signings. The average expectation is somewhere between 6 & 7, let’s see how close we are to what actually happens.

Thought I'd bring this back, about to become 14, I think we all underestimated Cook and co.

Hallam said over 10 but she's a witch so it doesn't count.

Re: How many new players will PC bring in over the summer ?
It’s unbelievable, really.
I think this has been amazing timing…. or great planning…. for gamechanger, Ashton, Cook to come together and Evans to leave and so many contracts to end.
Also, lots of Championship clubs are under embargo or have to spend frugally so we can compete with them.
Just got to get it right on the field.

Re: How many new players will PC bring in over the summer ?
Yes on the field is where it really matters, the owners and ceo have done Cook proud to be fair, I think it is obvious we now have a squad full of hungry players who want to be here and succeed, once they are used to each other watch us go, we have a squad of very good players, soon they will become a very good team.
I just can't see this bunch failing, certainly where the Top six (minimum) is concerned, Cook has been left in no doubt that its top six at Christmas or bye bye, he knows what is the minimum requirement.

Re: How many new players will PC bring in over the summer ?
i'd expect the club to be within the top three by end of year. Maybe just over exuberant with all the changes made and expecting things that aren't quite ready for us. If we're outside the top six by January would view that as something underachieving. I think by then the playes and staff would have had enough time together to have settled in and least provide the club with a real reach of the automatic promotion places. If however we find ourselves some distance away by that time many will find issue with it.
There'll be no other distractions by end of year outside of League matters so really little in the way of excuses if the team, Cook etc haven't provided a real opportunity (nearing end of season) to make it back towards Championship status.
