Wk.9. THE CURRAGH, THE IRISH DERBY

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

£10 win on Arturo Toscanini please Wolfie.

And if that doesn't happen, I'll put another tenner on him to score in the Euros final for Italy.

2021 Irish Derby Tips - Mac can shine on return to Curragh

Each Way Verdict,,Mac Swiney,

Jim Bolger wouldn't give Mac Swiney another chance over this trip if he didn't think he was a genuine stayer. Soft ground around the Curragh brings out the best in Mac Swiney, and he can land the third Group One of his career on Saturday.

2021 Irish Derby Tips: Mac Swiney Each-Way @8/1 at William Hill - 10 Units.

Saturdays Odds
https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/17 ... -26/771355

BETTING FORECAST 7/4 High Definition, 9/2 Mojo Star, 5/1 Hurricane Lane, 6/1 Lone Eagle, 13/2 Mac Swiney, 14/1 Van Gogh, Wordsworth, 16/1 Earlswood, 25/1 Fernando Vichi, 33/1 Arturo Toscanini, 100/1 Matchless.

VERDICT
A strong field but HIGH DEFINITION can give Aidan O'Brien a 15th Irish Derby win by reversing Dante form with Hurricane Lane.

WOLFIES Each Way TIP of the Day
Fernando Vichi

COMMENTS

Arturo Toscanini ....Unplaced in the Queen's Vase since second to Earlswood in the Gallinule, massive task here
Earlswood ....Looked a progressive middle-distance colt when beating Arturo Toscanini in the Gallinule
Fernando Vichi ....Got this trip well when winning a Listed race at Leopardstown last time, big rise in class
High Definition ....Gave a laboured display when third in the Dante, sure to be a much more potent force now
Hurricane Lane ....Loss of two front shoes a possible issue when third at Epsom, big chance on Dante form
Lone Eagle.... Form of Sandown run reads really well at this stage, no stamina doubts after Goodwood win
Mac Swiney ....Irish 2,000 Guineas winner, stamina open to question on the evidence of Derby fourth
Matchless ....Listowel maiden winner at two, limitations exposed this term, likely supporting-role now
Mojo Star ....Derby runner-up is a maiden, fascinating rematch of Epsom rivalry with third and fourth
Van Gogh.... Third in Irish 2,000 Guineas, never involved in Prix du Jockey Club on first run beyond 1m
Wordsworth.... Beat High Definition at two, now essentially a staying prospect judged on Queen's Vase run

it ends the last Saturday in July Lucy, so i think there is 4 more weeks,
its all very close which makes it interesting aye,

you got 1st and 2nd but still droped one place in the table :?

if you'd done those two horse in a straight forecast bet to come 1st and 2nd in that order you would have won around 27,00 odd for a £1.00 bet,

Comments,
Bet of the day was Tangfastic winning a profit of 40..00.and moving up the table to 4th.

Frosty added 25.00 to his pot which keeps him top.

The two girls were on a roll today with Lucy picking 1st and 2nd picking up 20.94.
and All White picking 1st and 3rd and gaining a profit of 24.38.

Bluemike and Wolfies horse Lone Eagle was beating on the line.

Marco still has his bet running on Arturo Toscanini scoring for Italy, or perhaps its just still running

I would like to thank Blueblood for keeping Wolfie from his normal position of last, but am sure that will change.

and we wont mention the Kerry blue choice of horse's Low Definitions..ooops i mean High Definitions
:)

But their is always next week,

This week we actually beat the bookies by taking a 65.32 off them. :D

Hurricane Lane storms home to deny Lone Eagle in epic Irish Derby

Image
Hurricane Lane and William Buick (blue) just get on top of Lone Eagle in the Irish Derby
Patrick McCann (racingpost.com/photos)

Hurricane Lane became just the second British winner of the Irish Derby since 1993 after he triumphed in the Dubai Duty Free-sponsored Curragh Classic on Saturday, although he had to stay on ever so strongly to reel in fellow raider Lone Eagle.

Ridden by William Buick, who sported the same Godolphin blue colours as he did in 2015 when landing the prestigious prize on Jack Hobbs, the Charlie Appleby-trained Hurricane Lane was third in the Derby at Epsom this but enjoyed his moment in the sun.

Settled in midfield, he improved turning for home, but was pushed along by Buick as Lone Eagle shot clear under Frankie Dettori.

It looked like they might hold on, but Buick timed things to perfection and prevailed by the narrowest of necks on the line as Wordsworth claimed third.

High Definition, the 9-4 favourite, failed to fire and was well beaten.
