Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
That's fair enough. Especially for later in the tournament. Croatia usually grow and get better as you all found out in Russia. If Scotland qualify, the country playing us in the last 16 would no doubt be money on favourite for a quarter final slot.
But my case in point was a guy the other week, a fellow Scotsman, saying, "Ah well, hopefully see the Welsh get the win."
This guy obviously forgot that Bale dived to get the penalty earning them a draw at Hampden a few years back. And those two points dropped were crucial in Us not qualifying for yet another tournament. I dislike Wales more than any other home nation. For that incident, for Bales man-bun, and for Robbie Savage.

to be honest Marco i support all the home nations when we are not playing them, but since the Iceland match when the Welsh players and staff were celebrating our loss they can get stuffed,marko69 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 11:42 amScotland’s traditional trait is the heads going down when scored against early and if Stones scores, things would’ve been different for Southgate today. Have to say though; we celebrated Phil Foden going off. Jaysus F Christ Southgate, you should be sacked for that alone.
But “the post” inspired us, shoved our arses into gear and the performance was clearly upped a few notches. Robertson & Gilmour were outstanding. And Pickfords save was a lot better than he’s being given credit for. That entire move was sublime from Scotland and the finish would’ve been sweet but for Pickford.
Fairly certain you guys will do the business v CR, and we’ll hopefully not do our usual and bottle it at the crucial stage.
And with you 100% Bluejacko ——>> I too couldn’t give a rats arse about Wales, ROI, NI or England. As you say, stuff them all.
Bring back the Home Nation Competition, should never have stopped them, that's the only chance of any of us have to win anything.
British, and proud to be British, better together than apart,

Bales did dive Marko, but can you remember way back in 1977 at Anfield in a world cup qualifier when Joe Jordon punched the ball in the Wales penalty area and got a pen for Scotland?marko69 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 1:39 pmThat's fair enough. Dalglish scored a header later on to make it 2-0 to Scotland and as they say rest was history with
"We're on the march with Ally's Army
We're going to the Argentine
And we'll really shake them up
When we win the World Cup"

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
All credit to Scotland they were by far the better side last night. Reminded me of my first ever trip to Wembley in 1967 when England lost 2-3 to Scotland losing for the first time after winning the World Cup.
Whilst I thought we’d win 1-0 my Mother In Law said we’d never score and bet me a fiver the result would be 0-0.
Needless to say I paid up
Just hope it gets better.

News reader from 1986:
“British runner, Yvonne Murray wins gold at the commonwealth games. Oh she’s British now is she? If she was 5th she’d have been Musselburgh born & bred eh? Here’s some late news; you know who won the World Cup in 66? Britain!! Aye, go raffle yerself with that nonsense!”
He was sacked.
There will never be a togetherness when it comes to sports. Rivalry is good.
England would go a long way in receiving foreign support if they’d get rid of people likd Rio from the screens who inform US ALL that you’re going to win it and that he’s never been so confident. Stop that shyte. You’re the only fkn country that does it.

That’s the Scotland way though, Steve.
Draw v Iran then become the only country to defeat Holland over 90mins at the 78 finals.
Truth is, we’ll always essentially be shyte. But we know it. Get pished and enjoy it.

Seriously Marko, there were a few players last night playing for Scotland looked head and tails better than the English.
That's the best Scotland team I have seen for years, Scotland look to have a good future, I also really rate your Manager.
Little surprised Celtic haven't been banging on his door to be honest

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Scotland are looking decent arguably with no thanks to Scotland themselves……. It’s the EPL. Roberston winning Champions Leagues with Liverpool, Gilmour with Chelsea. The young lads are learning in England. And it’s great to see. Great to see that there are youngsters too good for Celtic and The Sevco.
Regarding England at the moment…….. Souness anyone?

Trying to work out if COVID actually reached Hungary or Denmark.
Watching the games in Budapest and Copenhagen both stadiums are at capacity.

Spot on and I also don't get why Celtic weren't banging his door. Although never want to see the OF be successful, just need Gerrard to move on and we'll have total meltdown.Steve and Jo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 2:59 pmSeriously Marko, there were a few players last night playing for Scotland looked head and tails better than the English.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Just typed out a response and the f**king device went off. Keep it short this time just not going to suffer that again, trying to remain calm,
firstly well done to the Scots, they got a point very few could have envisaged. So what if reports say their fans celebrated wildly in unison, they're entitled to it, many would have imagined they would suffer a loss last night and just ridiculed them to a defeat before game was even underway. More power to them that were a very good score, people don't like it that's just too bad. I hope they can qualify for the second phase, it will be tough but some big encouragment to take from last night.
France with a surprise point from Hungary, that strikes you as an odd score. Will be rooting fot Spain later today, won't be watching but they're a favorite team of these competitions. Would be mighty satisfactory if they could win it again like years before.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Welsh have got through to the second phase even though there were a defeat in Italy. First impression congratulations and all that, you won't replicate the achievements of last time out but they got to be thrilled over there they're at an elimination stage once again.
Don't agree with a number of nations playing all their games on home soil while others have to take their chances either at a neutral venue or the oppositions own stadia. Said before it were put together in a hurry by a collection of "individuals" who didn't quite think it through or put nearly enough time and effort into what should have been a tournament of regular standing. You got teams in there like Finland and North Macedonia (what the f*ck) that only just illustrates it's far from what you'd expect or (go as far to say) very much of a gimmick tournament.

That's extremely unlucky. I'm assuming that he's been vaccinated of course. If not then he's let down his country. No excuse (unless there is one of course ).
But I'm not judging yet

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
To be honest there is very little in the tournament to get excited about so far, for me its been poor, most games boring and majority of results predictable, its much like the group stages of the World Cup or Champions league, pointless, too many clubs qualify for these tournaments and after the groups hardly any go home, its dull and boring.
