Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
I’ve watched the replays of Sterlings penalty, and there was contact that appeared to cause Sterling to lose his footing. Sure I guess you could say it was soft, but I’ve seen those given numerous times.
It’s definitely nothing in comparison to Maradona’s hand of god goal, or Lampard’s yard over line disallowed goal against the Germans.
You win some, you lose some…certainly not a conspiracy.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
I’ve never been bothered by maradona’s hand of god goal or the Lampard free-kick because we were outplayed in both games. The other Maradona goal was genius and worth two goals anyway (although you have to factor in Peter Reid just jogging back after Maradona). We’ve actually had a lot of other bad decisions go against us over the years.number 9 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 10:35 pmI’ve watched the replays of Sterlings penalty, and there was contact that appeared to cause Sterling to lose his footing. We were the better side against Denmark. We deserve to be in the final.

Good or bad? Obviously looking forward to the game tonight but for some strange reason I’m not feeling particularly nervous about the result!

Bully calls on England fans to help make Euro final magical
Wolves legend Steve Bull MBE has praised England fans in the region for their support ahead of the Euro final.
The former England international said it has been great to see streets lined with England flags and balloons.
Bully, who was sporting his prized Italia 90 England shirt outside Molineux, said: “The fans have have been absolutely fantastic behind the scenes, watching it on telly or the 60,000 that were at Wembley.
“They have just got to keep getting behind us now. It could be a magical moment for everybody.
“England fans are very passionate, I’m driving around the streets now and most of the streets have got flags out, balloons out.

At this precise moment i am not particularly nervous, however come 8pm when that whistle blows to start the game i expect to be a bag of nerves!
As G&B's post about Steve Bull calling to make the final magical, the one thing which would help to make it more magical is if fans could just stop booing the opposing team's National anthem. I find it so disrespectful and it makes my blood boil.

100% Agree with that Mark, if anything it probably helps motivate the opposition,AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:22 amAt this precise moment i am not particularly nervous, however come 8pm when that whistle blows to start the game i expect to be a bag of nerves!

At Heathrow waiting for departure, be out the country some time soon. Not much in the way of English flags and people showing team colors, thought it would be a big thing in West London or maybe its just too early for festivities.
Italy should win later today, it would be mighty fine but credit it to their opponents Southgate has assembled a good squad . Rooting for an Azzurri win, apologize if needs be but sure it'll be a game fitting for a Final event.

Agree with the booing of the anthems I thought that had actually stopped. Not a welcome comeback!

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Massive day for you guys. Can only imagine the nerves. Only 51 and even if i double my life to 102, i’ll still never experience what you guys will experience tonight (from an international standpoint). Must rely on Hibs & Ipswich to bring me joy.
Hopefully the team who plays the beautiful game tonight, as it should be played, lifts the trophy. Stay on your fkn feet, Kane. Who knows, you could bag a hatrick.
And the “102” thing? With the present spontaneous knee pain ——>> please, no!

Saint? If you’re jetting out because of a football match……. Thats the saddest f**king thing I've ever read on a football forum. Got to be honest, (and being nice here) ——>> giving you the benefit of the doubt and saying you’re full of sh*t. Like i said; in a nice way.

It's all kicking off in London, several disturbing scenes I’ve seen around London; sadly if England Win tonight I believe there will be hell on our streets I believe if we lose there will be hell on our streets; what is it with some of our football fans

Don't think its got anything to do with actual football nowadays, just an excuse to act like mongrelsKerry Blue wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 6:40 pmIt's all kicking off in London, several disturbing scenes I’ve seen around London; sadly if England Win tonight I believe there will be hell on our streets I believe if we lose there will be hell on our streets; what is it with some of our football fans
I actually believe there is now a different breed of human beings hatched in the last 20 odd years, still only a minority but completely out of control,
some say they act like animals, but i think that's insulting animals, we have got to stop giving people money for doing nothing, it breeds contempt,
Rant Over,

Booing during the anthems or using laser pens on goalies is pathetic. May the best team win, but (some of) the English fans are really an emberassement.
Great first goal for England though! Completely caught the Azzurris by surprise

When we went one up after 2 mins I said to my lady that's too early and when at half time we hadn't scored another I feared the worst.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
On the night Mancini outwitted Southgate. The last thing we needed was penalties especially when we only have Kane, Rashford and Sancho as experienced pen takers and two of those missed.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Snap, said exactly same thing. The better team (and overall best of the tournament) won on the day, but in truth history will show it was only the lottery of penalties that separated us in the end. Proud of what England have achieved in this tournament and we came oh so close.Kerry Blue wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:07 pmWhen we went one up after 2 mins I said to my lady that's too early and when at half time we hadn't scored another I feared the worst.

Well Italy had the edge for most of the game, so congratulations to them, No shame for us.
But now there's always the World Cup. Onwards and upwards.

Losing i can take and I never knock anyone who takes a penalty but f*ck me Rashford and Sancho really pissed me off with theirs tbh, stupid bloody run ups, stop and start, hesitate and god knows what else, they were ridiculous, just run up and bang it like Maguires, felt so sorry for Saka, all the pressure was piled on him by the other Two All in all been a good tournament and we've done so well, I just felt the Two kicks mentioned above from our so called penalty experts cost us in the end.

Agreed but you have to question whether it was right for them to come on so late to actually take a penalty,Bluemike wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 5:40 amLosing i can take and I never knock anyone who takes a penalty but f*ck me Rashford and Sancho really pissed me off with theirs tbh, stupid bloody run ups, stop and start, hesitate and god knows what else, they were ridiculous, just run up and bang it like Maguires, felt so sorry for Saka, all the pressure was piled on him by the other Two All in all been a good tournament and we've done so well, I just felt the Two kicks mentioned above from our so called penalty experts cost us in the end.

No it wasn't the wisest plan but I'm nor sure much warm up is required to bang home a penalty tbh.
