Hmm perhaps not the "very strong" team suggested?

Not bothered about this competition, but if this is a chance to get match fit and gel - maybe put out a stronger eleven.

Shows we need CB’s and CM.

Well, i suppose he has an impossible task to keep everyone happy but that team suggests 15% Carabao Cup concentration, 85% Burton…… delighted with that.
I do understand about winning and that generating confidence, there is no doubt about that.,,… but, possible injury in this will be costly to League plans.

Ipswich 6 Newport Wolves 5 (Useless bstd, Holy)

Yeah I guess this has to be the way going forward, we look strong up front but defensively we look terribly weak

I actually always considered "bor" as mate or a neighbour and not necessary a male Mark.. Guess I could be wrong though
Was just keeping it simple for the Furriners on here
Maybe we should have a post celebrating our dialects in general chat lol
yeah my dad and his bro.s always used to say that "ar yer orrite bor" he meant "boy"and instead of "no" they would say "Ho" used to make me laugh that, even when i read your post all those sayings brought back the memories,

Stupid question, (but not from a Scottish person) ……, do Suffolk & Norfolk people sound completely different? Norfolk sound closer to Yorkshire, Suffolk closer to cockney?

Hmmm…. I would say they mostly sound similar. But probably south Suffolk have more of an Essex accent.

West Norfolk doesn’t sound like Yorkshire, maybe Lincoln/Cambridgeshire- which isn’t too strong.

These accents Mark uses are a bit put-on. It’s more of a generational thing….. I think the accents dying out and getting diluted.

I could understand the mid Suffolk lingo but as you went north it definitely got broader and a deeper voice. especially when you got to Yarmouth they sounded more like the Rumanians or Polish, actually i think they were,

Oh definitely a bit Singing Postman, Keith Skipper style. I guess you hear a lot of shortened words still "ha yer" instead of have you, "hent" instead of haven't, thass as opposed to that is. A very lazy dialect and "proper" Norfolk words like "troshin, mawther" etc are rarely heard these days, unless you're at Acle market!

That bloody commenter Woolly or whatever his name getting on my nerves.

We have had 24 shots, 6 on target plus twice hitting the woodwork, we are down to 10 men having Norwood coming off injured and he still doom and gloom

Result yes, but not as in the past for lack of effort, sounded like we can count ourselves unlucky

Waiting for the match reports with interest

This cup really gets up my nose, Every other year it changes sponsors, Just not top priority.

For me good in some ways for we get week off week after next. Yes rather we won but not crying for losing

However you look at it it’s a very poor result and could be quite damaging to morale. Even worse it eliminates an excellent opportunity for new players to get used to playing together and for the coaching staff to test new tactics in a competitive situation which differs greatly to training games.

Bitterly disappointed as I was hopeful we’d have a good run this year. 😞

I think the team selected says the true priority of this competition though.
I do agree totally on new players and tactics. In the past though we had no interest in winning, Mick, Paul Lambert had no interest. Not sure this is the case today

Shame yes but not a disaster in my opinion
