Looking at the highlights, Cheltenham's first goal was due to poor marking. Their second goal was due to lack of movement and speed to react to the ball. Lovely goal by Penney, I thought Bonne's miss was simply because he over hit the chip. Edwards looks really good.
I know the highlights are just a small snippet of the season so far, but for me it really looks like we're lacking communication at the back. Of course we all know that's a classic example of players who haven't played together for long. I do think we need a lot more urgency in defence at least from this example...but that was a major problem before, so Cook should've addressed that already.

Having had a chance to reflect, my early optimism about our prospects for the season has reasserted itself.
I thought we looked very good in the first half and could, perhaps should, have been 2 up by half time.
Getting defensive cohesion, with new signings, was always going to be the last part of the restructuring of the team to achieve.
I thought Burgess looks a really good buy.
I do feel that we are going to give someone a hiding sooner or later and, when we do, we will soar. COYB

Having seen the highlights I have to say our defence looks an absolute shambles and unlike others my optimism for the season has been somewhat dampened if I'm honest, we need KVY, Edmundson and Burgess playing, until that happens we will continue to struggle and ship goals.

A couple of people on here reckoning Ipswich are about to start pumpin the opposition?
I hope all who think this are bang on the money.
But, is this thinking coming from watching the full 90? Genuinely asking because i haven’t witnessed itfc this season yet except the shocking colchester friendly, (pre decent signings) ……
Is it going to click soon? Are the hidings just around the corner?

Not sure he's gonna be any better than Penney, certainly not going forward

I think there are signs of progress Marko and genuinely think we will be there or thereabouts but as I said yesterday, it may not be this season that we see the benefits in all their glory. I hope we do but you never know...

If things don’t improve sooner rather than later, ‘Paul’ will be riding a horse through the town yelling THE AMERICANS ARE COMING! THE AMERICANS ARE COMING!

What the f*ck. You must mean Revere. Warned US forces (famous overnight ride) about approaching British troops before battles of Concord / Lexington (1775) at the time of the Revolution.
