Maybe he'll turn over a new leaf, the team certainly needs to!

I thought I was mad to Predict Norwood for First Goal

Really good half of football. Deserved that.
Edmundson is superb. And we’ve missed Burns….. and, dare I say it, Norwood.
2-1 defeat ? Wouldn’t rule it out.

Playing well in a 4-4-2, Cook could never see it but no doubt Ashton's fault

Missed the first half but seen the goal. Norwood did exceptionally well given he was surrounded by five Sunderland players.

Found the game on ifollow but shame about the Sunderland commentary. The crowd seem subdued unless the Sunderland broadcast have dubbed out the crowd noise.

How much more threatening we look with Wes Burns playing.

Really hope the team can knuckle down and get a good result from this game, it would be a big boost to confidence and hopefully something for the new management team to build on. COYB

To be honest I’d be happy to take the draw, even happier with win.

WTF was Edmundson doing, almost gifted them a goal chance with a poor back header in the final few minutes.

Our subs are playing well, both KVY and Chaplin have got into the game well since coming on.

BM I think that John McGreal has done a good temporary managers job, he's been able to introduce changes and game plans that Cook couldn't, so I'm going to say a BIG THANK YOU TO JOHN McGreal 4 games 2 lost 2 drawn, and I'm sure everyone on here will agree he's done a good temporary job, you can now go back to your under23 job with Keiran feeling proud

I think most of us would have been happy to take a 1-1 draw before the game kicked off .

Am I alone in thinking that if Burns had been playing in recent games Cook would still have a job? * Runs and hides*

Much better performance sadly we started the 2nd half slowly and they scored. If Town can play like this for the rest of the season we will definitely win more than lose.

Burns is a quality signing,we appear to play better with him in the team,it was time for cook to go,rushed appointment from the start.

Kinda, but I still think this team is capable of reaching play-offs and need to starting winning football matches.
I think they are every bit as good a side as Sunderland and need to start doing the business. Its only Xmas and a long way to go.
I'm hoping McKenna gets that winning mentality into them and get a bit of momentum going.
So will take a point today but it needs to improve. No reason why this season can't be turned around.

I watched the game with Sunderland commentary and when they summarised at the end of the game they said it wasn’t a bad point for them as they expected Ipswich to be involved in the play offs come the end of the season.

I’m hoping this will be just the lift the players need and given how much Sunderland struggle to keep a clean sheet on the road I’m going for a 2-2 draw with James Norwood scoring twice.
So where were the 29,000 fans today when it came to noise coz it didn’t sound like much of an atmosphere to me. As I said earlier if maybe the Sunderland coverage dubbed the noise down but how it sounded to me was pretty poor vocal support from such a large home crowd.

It was totally rocking from 10 mins before kick off until about 20 mins in, Charny. Best atmosphere we have created for years. After that it did drop and as always, as the mistakes and fear come in, it drops off but in general, we can be proud of our support. Good applause and upbeat at the end too. Onwards and sideways we go...

That’s good news Liz. To be fair the Sunderland coverage from a Town fans angle was shocking, but I guess the same would apply in reverse. How many games are included in the “Pack Portman Road Out” initiative ? ... it would be great to keep it going.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 8:10 pmWell well, aren’t Sunderland ifollow full of shyte then , coz having watched it on out ifollow I can tell you the atmosphere st PR today was electric … they edited it out !!Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:26 pmCharnwood wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 11:35 amToday is the day when town fans can really make Portman Road rock and be worth a goal start, but to achieve that they will need to be vocal and create an atmosphere to lift the players who should already be up for it in front of the new manager and owners.
