Was it the 4-4-2 that it appeared to be via bbc live score? Aluko on the left etc? I thought it might have been a 352 with Aluko central behind the strikers like the second half on weds.

I thought after Norwood was subbed we went 4,2,3,1 with Bonne as the lone striker in front of Burns. Aluko and Chaplin. We also looked so much more penetrating down the left after Kane Vincent-Young came on for Matt Penny.

Definitely was not 442. 532 then 4231.

So who wasn’t in the back 4 at the start of the game out of Donacian, Woolfenden, Edmundson & Penny ?

Penney and Burns were wing backs

I must admit I only watched the second half Mike but it looked to me like Burns was playing as a wide attacking midfielder, I certainly didn’t see him doing much defending. We’ve most certainly missed him and look a much better team when he’s playing.
I’m not so sure about Penney, so often he seemed to be missing when needed and too easily gets drawn out of position. When he went off yesterday and Kane Vincent-Young came on again we looked much better.

It wasn't that formation second half, they changed it.

One positive to take were the attendance. Near 30,000 is to be applauded, shame the team couldn't get the victory to accommodate it. Can see why so many came along, Cook forced out at long last, new manager waiting it's turn and the Beattie statue taking place. Hope it weren't a one off and such attendances can be sustained. Guess a great many were excited what with recent changes and events and decided to come along.
Viewed highlights yesterday, we seemed defensively suspect at times and while Norwood gets his (perhaps justified) share of abuse he's a player that can make a difference and can play a pivotal part on the field. Think many would have taken a point before start of play, the opposition occupy a top six place and are no pushovers but would have wanted to win obviously.
The Barrow debacle may just work to our advantage in the months ahead as all focus can remain on the League. Some may argue we got to much ground to make up but all things are possible. McKenna has a grand task ahead but if he can turn around the damage left behind by his predecessor/s and get the team playing once again to full stadiums then we'll have an opportunity if nothing else.

SJ it was the "Pack out PR" campaign which swelled the attendance so massively. This is a promotion by the club where the 3 home festive fixtures (Sunderland, Wycombe, Lincoln) could be purchased at a significantly discounted rate (was it 3 games for £40). Even individual games could be bought at £15 each.saint jude wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 12:55 amOne positive to take were the attendance. What makes the take up even more amazing is that a high percentage would definitely have been purchased while PC was still in charge, also lots of fans (& players) also laid out money to buy tickets for less fortunate fans who would probably not be able to afford to come to PR.
All in all, a fantastic initiative from the club and our new owners. It shows they are very much on the ball, as without this i imagine the attendances would have dropped while we were still suffering embarrassing cup defeats and a downturn in any form we had started to show.
