He signed a new contract with Coventry last year that runs until the end of the season May 2026, that’s two full seasons which puts them in the driving seat until someone makes an offer they can’t refuse.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 1:13 pmI suppose it's where his contract currently is as to how likely and club could get him. Anyway, how's that knee doing a few days post op. Much pain and swelling going on, and are you using sticks or crutches?

It makes you Laugh just reading Leeds placed a late offer of £20 million for Szmodics, But the whole point to selling Sammie was for premiership games no swapping over to a competitor in the championship I'll be surprised if this happens, But we will see

Yep, home and settled and all is good Liz. Just keeping myself out of the sun for a few days until I can go in the pool after the staples have been removed removed on 6 Aug.
On Monday I start an extensive rehab programme for knee replacement clients. 2hrs a day, 1hr strengthening and 1 hr physio every day for 3 weeks. At the end of that hopefully I’ll be walking ok. At the moment I can only manage to get around with the help of a walking frame like my nan had 60 yrs ago. I guess next step will be swapping that for sticks given the joint is total load bearing.
Anyway, I’ll have it cracked before our next holiday in October.

Wow, that's an impressive rehab programme! I hope you can manage 2 hrs, blimey. Is that the Spanish NHS version? Lol, you'd be lucky to get 20mins once a week in UK. The rest is up to you at home. Keep using the ice though ....got a date for your first golf match post op?Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 3:54 pmhallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 1:13 pmI suppose it's where his contract currently is as to how likely and club could get him. You beat me to it. Do you pick a slight desperation in that or is it just me?
The problem we will have is the one Burnley faced. So many new players that there’s no understanding between them on the park.

You could be right I think the fact that we have injuries does not help the squad is thin on the ground and him saying the two boys need to be ready for the premier is a concern I guess time will tell.

All valid points. I think we’ll sign another 4-6 players and that’ll be us set, we may use loans Inc from abroad too.
I’m orettt sure we’ll spend over 100m now though…which I’m not overly easy about - but hopefully the club knows what it’s doing. It’ll be rolling the dice a bit as if we stay up then it’ll have paid off.
When you have good young players at least your team improves every season before even making any signings. So that’s a good model to go with like we have been.

I think watching us today ( I realise we have some key players out for various reasons), but whilst I was watching us, I’m thinking the whole time, geeeze, how the hell are we going to compete with some of these PL teams, who press high, hard and fast ?Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 7:54 pmYou could be right I think the fact that we have injuries does not help the squad is thin on the ground and him saying the two boys need to be ready for the premier is a concern I guess time will tell.
Too many of our players are just too slow, and lack the technical ability to compete. Hard work, running and togetherness will only get you so far.
I think we have to prepare ourselves for a long hard season, with every game a backs to the wall cup final. I just hope the swelled Town ranks appreciate how far this squad had come in just two seasons and don’t get too impatient when it goes tits up. Our shortcomings is not lost on McKenna and I definitely picked up on that in his post match interview tonight.

I thought the same but tried to tell myself that a full strength side will be stronger - there were some postitves, Greaves looks class and Muric was decent - literally he was halfway up the half most of the time and on occasions he was at the centre circle! And I’m talking about when we had the ball at the back, not when we had a corner up the other end or such.
That 60 yard pass he made to Harness was impressive.
We do need a tricky winger/someone who can beat a man and create something. Ie Omari like.

I wouldn't get to panicky about today, I certainly don't think there's any desperation at all, we've signed 5, we need 10ish, it'll come. That side was kinda thrown together and it's still very early in the process plus all the chopping and changing, Ashton and McKenna know what's needed.

Is it possible the ownership is pausing spending to re-evaluate the strategy? Who would have thought 15mil for a goal keeper! And of course Omari’s ridiculous fee. Add Delap to the equation…maybe the Americans are puckering a bit?

Liz, the Spanish Health Service is good but not that good and their Pysio Depts are more than stretched to the limits with insufficient staff. The Programme I’m on is provided by the Private Sector and for the best deal it all has to be paid for upfront so I hope I can manage it too. I discussed it with the surgeon and he’s adamant it’s the right thing to do. To me it feels like I’m starting a full time job

That’s the role Kieran McKenna wanted Jaden Philogene to fill and tbh I’m still a bit pissed off we lost out on him to shitty Villa. He would have been an absolute perfect fit.

Oh blimey Andy, I think you’re going to have your work cut out lol! It’s only pain as they say…( you can say that to me in Sept when I’ve got no physio rehab booked up and have to try and do it all myself)! I’d say that a pretty good target for your golf though , but maybe 9 holes just to start you offCharnwood wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2024 7:34 amhallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 5:51 pmWow, that's an impressive rehab programme! Taken from Phil TWTD about Szmodics.
Wasn't done as of Saturday but was getting closer. Once the fee is agreed, which think it will in pretty short order even if it hasn't already unless Blackburn prove to be unnecessarily difficult, then I think it will happen very quickly after that.

Can't see him leading the line.
Only 44 minus 35 times 2 plus 1 days to go until liverpool.

Apparently Szmodics has been training with Blackburn today whilst negotiations continue. No doubt the Venky’s are going to try and get as much out of us as possible. Must be a nightmare trying to negotiate with them as we saw with the Gallagher saga last season.
