Had a bit of a scout around and it looks like the Hamar link is cobblers

I was thinking the same but I see Sheff Utd are signing lots of players and hoping to sign Rak-Saki and Plymouth keeper Cooper so maybe they will need to sell him hopefully.

I wouldn’t mind Cooper here ( instead of Walton)

Sammie Szmodics is hotting up again just £500'000 on top to close the deal, and he's not playing against Stockport tonight so it all could be done sometime this week, we've offered £8 million for him but are haggling over half a million that Blackburn want, I said earlier that the commentator for the Blackburn v Derby game said it was his last goal for them.

Really rated him before he got injured. Can’t see him coming here though as a backup keeper.

Correct. yes it may be trickier as it lumps alot more money onto this years books.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:22 amThink you have to pay full fee upfront to trigger a release clause. If so there is no way we would agree to that under the current financial rules.
Sometimes a club will say 'ok the release is 17m, if we give you 19m can we pay in installments' - so basically like a normal transfer, but I this case if they want to keep him then they may want the clause met or no deal.

Mate I wouldn't take any notice of that load of nonsense, they make up stuff most of the time.

Not playing against Stockport? He's scored twice, where do you get your nonsense info from? Hamar rumours confirmed as nonsense but we are interested in the CB, very underwhelmed

Who needs a CB when we're absolutely desperate for a player in the middle of the park now?

Tbh getting bored with all this transfer rumour crap now. Roll on to when the window has closed. Just hope we don’t end up making panic signings.

I think we have to be careful not to project our own frustration Mike. I'm waiting to see how we end up by the end of the window before judging. Still a couple of weeks to go.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
It’ll be like waiting for a bus…. Nothing for hours, then 3-4 all come down the road at once! I’m expect that in the last week of the window. I think the striker will be a loan player after the window has shut. But looking at the news if further / additional investors, I can see us competing at the higher end of players available ( not the silly end), than us fans are even thinking about, but we will be guided by the financial rules. So we will do further business at a higher end in January too.

Agree to a certain extent, but we'll be 3 games down (8% of the season) by the time deadline day transfers can get on the training ground. Then there is the bedding in period too, which for someone like a central midfielder, is probably measured in months rather than weeks.Dubai Blue wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 7:36 amI think we have to be careful not to project our own frustration Mike. Granted the first two games are expected to be tough regardless, but every point matters at the end of the season, and Fulham at home could be an important one.
We need players in as soon as possible and we've been seemingly beaten to the draw time after time by the teams we will be competing with for survival. Hopefully those teams will fill their ranks first and leave the scraps for us, problem is, that's the scraps and we'll be lucky if there's much left.
On top of it all, the Szmodics affair looks like it's made a mockery of our club.

Agreed, but the club has contributed to that a lot. Once our offer had been refused, we should have formally withdrawn it and walked awayRicco wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 8:44 amAgree to a certain extent, but we'll be 3 games down (8% of the season) by the time deadline day transfers can get on the training ground. Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Absolutely, it's been over a month since it was reported that we had approached Blackburn. Especially after the Sam Gallagher situation, you can't let things like this drag out and draw your attention from other dealings. Say one week, if we don't have an agreement at the end of that, we're walking. It could be said it's just one player, but it's damaging to the club.
Of course we don't really know what's going on, maybe we have walked away, maybe we've agreed that they can play him for a few games in order to boost their survival chances in return for a better price. I find anything like that very unlikely though, it feels like a super slow-motion car crash to me.
