Actually thought of one already, I'd love us to go for Latte Lath of Middlesbrough, only thing is he's another who's unproven at this level.

That name rings a bell…. Reckon we’ll go back in for that foreign striker again though near the window closing .

Spot on .Mach_Polish_Blue wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 12:51 pmIt is brutal on our double promotion winners but lets not forget we conceded 57 goals last season. Therefore better defenders was what we have been after.
McKenna sqeezed everything out of the players last season. He knows they played at their top level and they've no higher level.
Majority of the boys have been great servants to the club, this was always going to happen
when the team stepped up another level.
You see it with every promoted team year after year.

Thats a good call Mike , he had a very good second half of the last season and at 25 could be coming into his stride.
coached well by Carrick.

Yeah I think it's a realistic target too, no idea what he'd cost though.

He cost Boro just over 5 million, I also like him but it did take a while to show his form and he would need to step up again and would they sell him ?, maybe we might try for a young Premier player on loan.

I like him, very good player and wouldn't be adverse to him, oddly enough I don't like Ellis Simms that much though.

Sorry to butt in onnyour conversation....
Fotis Ioannidis is the name of the striker I think we might try and go back in for.... we've had 2 failed bids early in the window.

Isn’t he more one to play in the three behind the striker?
Ie not a tall/strong/mobile striker KM wants. I admit I don’t know much about him though so could be wrong.

Greaves and O'Shea pairing could prove to be instrumental in our survival. I can't wait to see them playing together!
Also, I was thinking I've been a bit tough on Muric after his error on Saturday. I wonder though if he'd be better off rolling the ball out to defenders when bringing the ball out from the back? Several goalies do exactly that, and it would relieve the need for Muric to play the ball with his feet as often. He certainly appears to be a commanding figure as far as saving shots and grabbing crosses.

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I am not sure you are being tough on him, it was a pretty awful error, not only that he was also at fault for the Third goal too, the worrying thing is he has a history of it. It wasn't just the goals either, there was One glaringly obvious time the ball was crossed in to the box and he had a free run to come and pluck it out of the air, but he stayed rooted and we had a bit of a scramble. While I am prepared to give him time it's not the start anyone, least of all himself will have been wanting and it just adds pressure on him further, it could be argued the best thing for him would be to start at Wimbledon and hopefully pick up a solid clean sheet to boost confidence.

One of the things that has been on my mind in the first two games is that we cannot cover for both Davies and Muric defensively at this level with compromising the defence in other areas. It will be interesting to see how KM deals with this problem.

I think KM has an eye for talent and the ability to bring out the best in a player. Look at how well he developed our squad players since he took charge. It’s this kind of coaching excellence that has attracted some of the talent we have loaned or signed these past weeks. So if he has identified O’Shea as a player he wants in the squad, you know for a fact that KM has analyzed him every which way, knows exactly what he’s getting and believes he can improve him. Same goes for Muric.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 11:46 amhttps://youtu.be/3Vx7BUpEsQk?si=EC27zNbRF_aVmR2G

Totally agree so hopefully he gets him up to speed soon as we need some early points.QldBlue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:24 pmI think KM has an eye for talent and the ability to bring out the best in a player. A few teams were chasing O'Shea for a reason and he's gonna have Greaves alongside him who oozes quality and composure.

What I don’t understand is he was photographed wearing the Brentford shirt with the “ I can’t wait to get started” words quoted, and s reported decline to Town, So how did that all fall apart? He was then in talks with Wolves…. So all a bit odd for me.

I actually thought he should have done better with the 4th goal as well. Certainly a nightmare of a debut but we have to hope he learns from these mistakes although as the Burnley fans have warned he does have moments like these.Bluemike wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 10:54 amI am not sure you are being tough on him, it was a pretty awful error, not only that he was also at fault for the Third goal too, the worrying thing is he has a history of it. Can you imagine how much they would ask, they always seem to get over the top when selling players unfortunately

They seem to think he's worth more than Haaland lol, his injury record bothers me but he's definitely a handful at Championship level, not sure about him in the Prem though.
