Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
I never thought Lambert rated Harrison, so wasn’t surprised he left... BUT I thought he would be replaced. What happens if Norwood gets injured? He’ll definately get suspended over the season. We’ve only got Jackson. Roberts is not a striker ... just a makeshift one. I’m happy if we bring in just one more player as long as it’s a striker. I’d be happy with Harrison as a squad striker and backup for Norwood. I think we were a little hasty to offload Harrison - get a striker in first.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
Quite so.
It's just another guess but reading LONs comments it sounds like there have been players identified who have talked to the club but may have been hedging their bets in the hope of something coming up in the Championship. The suggestion being that ITFC only wants players who are excited to join not players who might take it closer to the window closing if they have no other options.
If this is true then I have to say that I support this.

Definately agree. And maybe more than one deal.
Unless Will Keane has got himself a new club, I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes here as a freebie on a short term deal. Say, till January. Lambert likes him, but his fitness record is shocking.

Saw an interview with PL and the question was asked about Keane. He mentioned that he had been injured more than once and that he had no contact with him. I would be surprised to see him at PR any time soon. There must be other options out there.tangfastic wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 5:29 pmDefinately agree. And maybe more than one deal.

I should think a One Legged Donkey with Ricketts would be a better option......

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
Town are being linked with renewed interest in former trialist Kane Vincent-Young.
Colchester full-back Vincent-Young spent time on trial with the Blues during pre-season ahead of 2018/19 but wasn't offered a deal and ended up signing a new two-year deal with the U’s.
Last week the 23-year-old, who was previously with Tottenham’s academy, was linked with moves to Championship sides Luton and Charlton but their transfer deadline passed with Vincent-Young still at the JobServe Community Stadium.
Now, according to the EADT, Town are weighing up a move for the Camden-born defender, who is primarily a right-back but also operates on the other flank.
Right-back is understood to be one of the areas where manager Paul Lambert is looking for one of his three additions prior to the League One window closing on September 2nd.
However, it’s likely to U’s would want a fee for Vincent-Young with funds known to be in short supply at Portman Road.

If he’s any good....Offer them Emmanuel or Cotter with some cash.
We’ve actually got plenty of RB’s ... it’s just no-one looks real quality. Donacien was solid enough on Saturday.
Emmanuel or Cotter doesn’t seem to have a future here - probably time they moved on.

I like Donacien and the one time I saw Cotter he impressed me but apparently he has attitude issues. I'm not a big fan of Emmanuel tbh, not consistent enough

You either missed the point or are attempting to wind up which is why I didn’t feel the need to reply. Personally I would have kept Harrison, but that’s not based on the fact he scored 2 goals against the Bham U23 side.ipswichtownNo1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 12:18 amNo comment AylesburyBlue?ipswichtownNo1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 7:41 pmOhhh now i see why we are in league 1. Strange one that, Pat Webber leaves League 1 Town for Championship Wigan. They must see his potential.

Hate to say it, but the lad probably couldn’t wait to get out after witnessing our poor quality.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
I think somebody may have misread this headline in the Grimsby Telegraph....
Wilfried Bony 'just' training with Newport County as Ipswich Town target striker
https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/spor ... ny-3209826
The article reads;
Premier League and Championship clubs may have been forced to call time on their summer recruitment, but sides in League One and Two still have time to shape their respective squads.
Unlike the top two tiers, clubs in the lower reaches of the EFL have until Monday, September 2 to wrap up any further summer transfer window business.
From Wilfried Bony sensationally training with Newport County to Ipswich Town looking to get a loan deal done for a Millwall striker, here are all the latest rumours from League One and League Two.
Ipswich to step up Elliott pursuit
Ipswich Town are understood to be keen on stepping up their interest in Millwall striker Tom Elliott, according to South London Press.
Elliott, who scored just three times last term – one of which was incidentally against Ipswich – resumed training on Monday, but was deemed not fit enough to feature in the Carabao Cup win over West Brom last night.
Should Ipswich manage to seal a deal for Elliott, it will be the second time this summer that the two clubs have traded players, with Millwall previously getting a deal over the line for goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

If Wilfred comes to town I will be the most amazed person since my cat woke up with no balls.
