Haynes handed derby goal!

Post by DeIpswich » Tue Feb 14, 2006 1:57 pm

Danny Haynes has been officially credited by the Football League with the winning goal against Norwich.

The 18-year-old striker bundled the ball over the line as he challenged with Gary Doherty to give Town a 2-1 win at Carrow Road.

The winner was initially reported as a Doherty own goal but Town sent a DVD to the disputed goals panel as evidence that the ball had gone in off Danny and not the Norwich defender.

A Football League spokesperson told the Club website that: "After seeing the incident again on the DVD supplied by Ipswich Town, we can confirm the goal will now be credited to Danny Haynes."

It takes the youngster's tally to three in Town first-team colours, with goals also against QPR and Leeds.
