It could be 5, Wood has had a very good career and at 32 years old is better than ever.

Re: Other matches.
Yes he'd been out for a while...but that was a few years ago so he probably wasn't very old at the time either. But I do remember him playing for us, and nothing went right for him lol
Just checked. He was here in 2015, so he was just 21, and he only made 8 appearances. ....I'd have him back here in Jan lol

Re: Other matches.
How many Plymouth fans left in the 48th minute @ 3-0 down? I'll guess at ---->> A LOT!
Monday morning at work.
Jim: "You stay 'til the end?"
Dave: "Oh yes, I was there, saw Whittaker's sweet strike."
Pete: "No you fkn didn't. You were standing in the chippy round the corner."
Dave: "I most certainly was not! I was in the ground."
Pete: "Well why did Tony tell me he saw your fat arse in there at quarter past 4!"

Re: Other matches.
75th minute and Palace are 1-0 up against Spurs. Even a Spurs equaliser would still put the Eagles above us.
West Ham currently leading Man U too (edit 1-1 now). We really need to beat the Foxes on Saturday in order to rein them in a bit!

Re: Other matches.
Yes all stacking up against us now isn't it, and all because of stupid unforced errors. I make it 3 matches ( Fulham, Villa , Brentford) we should have won and failed too. It's a real shame

Re: Other matches.
It's futile discussing SPL on some occasion but right now there's a stellar weekend of action underway. Aberdeen were for a short time leaders of the division (which only ever occurs in alphabetical order at start of season before any game's even been played out) but now pushed back into second albeit on goal difference after a Celtic romp at Fir Park. The other side of Glasgow sneaked past St Mirren but there won't be no title going to Ibrox any time soon.
Aberdeen / Rangers this midweek has the potential to be one of the very best of the entire season. If the home team can find another victory that's one more step to becoming potential champions for first instance since 1985. Most just won't see it but the improvement there is beyond radical.

Aberdeen are doing superbly well this season, I think everyone the world over will be rooting for them to topple Celtic in the promotion race, and of course it's currently in their own hands, they just need to beat the Hoops lol.

Re: Other matches.
They did it : a win over Rangers at Pittodrie a short time ago. This is f**king great. Gone almost 40 years since a league championship and now it looks like they may actually do it. Almost 10 points separate second place to third now. Celtic winning the league more often than not is all very well and good but this presents a fresh challenge and it's real pleasing to see the emergence. This season is going to be close in terms of both teams going for it.
Good to see a once proud club name after years of decline now making it back and on the verge of challenging to be the best once again. They can have the 1983 ECWC, in fact I wish them well.

Re: Other matches.
I actually watched a bit of the Aberdeen vs Rangers game. God, how refreshing ig was to not see anal " building from the back" football. It was great to see the odd punt forwards, defender vs striker racing for the ball. Getting the ball to the by line and putting an early cross into the box, actually taking a punt on a shot from 20 yards. It was exciting and fast and players made mistakes .....all highlighted to me how plastic and tedious the game on the EPL has become.

He's been on the bench for most games, you would have thought he would have done better he looked good in pre season.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 10:27 pmFreddie Ladapo just come on for 'Uddersfield in 84th min vs Tamworth in FA Cup ... not going swimmingly well for poor Freddie then

Re: Other matches.
Just b4 he left us, I thought he'd looked the sharpest he'd even been whilst at Town. He also looked to have upped his work rate ( closing down etc) considerably. Too little too late unfortunately.

As much as I loved Freddie and thought he got a raw deal towards the end there is no doubt we let him go at the right time.

Re: Other matches.
Holy sh*t, they must've omitted that from the highlights. I mean if he was the sharpest JUST before he left, why punt him off to Charlton? Where he done absolutely fk all. Think he actually was dropped to the bench while on loan there. He's a carbon copy of Elie Youan at Hibs ----->> he'll be a stick out player SOMEWHERE in the pyramid, just never in the Top 3 tiers. He'd be awesome at somewhere like Ebbsfleet United, currently struggling in the Conference.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 10:08 amJust b4 he left us, I thought he'd looked the sharpest he'd even been whilst at Town. Re: Other matches.
Some score from the Scots League Cup aroused some interest. Can't think what it could possibly be..
FA Cup First Round took off this weekend and Maidstone won't be troubling us again. Got to mention once more Norwich allowed a winning position to slip at 90 minutes to somehow see defeat at Cardiff. If only we'd held on ourselves earlier it would have made for a fine set of results.

Re: Other matches.
Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd put this lovely goal from Osman Foyo, who is on loan at Chelmsford City here;

Just love it when a commentator is left looking stupid.....
'you have to put it in boy, you can't mess around with it'
'oh you can't do that'

Re: Other matches.
Wolves going into half time 1-0 up against Southampton. A draw would be a better result for us as it'd keep both of them below us!
Fulham 1-0 up away to Palace, would be happy for that scoreline to stay that way.
