The Dunning-Kruger effect is very evident with a couple of contributors here.

So, who is affected by the Dunning-Kruger effect? According to the researchers, everyone is prone to this effect. This is because no matter how informed or experienced we are, we all have our areas of ignorance. You might be smart and skilled in many areas, but no one is an expert at everything

Word!

There’s also the cheeky monkey effect which we all seem to be experts at.

One thing I’m not well known for Rossi is sitting on the fence, and I thought my position on McKenna was clear. So, if you’re too dumb to work out what my position is I’ll clarify it for you.
.
Dumb? Me, dumb? Let me assure you that I'm not, although I'll concede that I can be a little slow on the uptake at times. But as an MSc (dist), I'm betting that I'm at least academically equal to you if not better, so don't ever call me dumb.
I was under the impression that a direct personal insult (such as calling somebody dumb) was against the rules of this forum, obviously I'm mistaken. But I have to say that it grieves me that a man who has, in the past, proudly proclaimed his credentials in upper management, resorts to a personal insult. If that's the way it is then fine, I'll happily play :) .
I do see you as a person that sits on the fence - sorry if you don't like that bit it's how you come across to me, and you're right, I don't know you from Adam so can form an opinion merely on what you have posted on this forum over the years :) .

For what it’s worth, I also think anyone who watches every game live on tv will have seen as much if not more than anyone who goes to Portman Road for every home game. I think the two main differences between being at the game or watching live on tv are, in the ground the atmosphere is real, whilst on tv you see more plus have the benefit of action replays. Given this I think your observation is pretty irrelevant.
When you watch a game live on tv, do you see all of the off-ball movement? Do you see the free spaces on the pitch? Or do you see only a small area of the game in play?
Granted live tv has action replays, but most of us who go to games watch highlights on tv later at least once.
So you may think my opinion on that is irrelevant - I don't.

Anyway - rant over. Merry Christmas :)

Rossi, I’d no idea you were such a sensitive bunny but on reflection my comment was probably out of order, please accept my apologies.

Merry Christmas to you too. 🎄🎅🌲

Caught highlights once night of the game. Could be excused for not giving any further viewing. Of the four goals I couldn't fault Muric for the opening two, he were kind of helpless to prevent although once again the defense reverted to type for the opposition's latter efforts. On paper at least or the squad we not only put out and subs available you'd imagine we'd be in with half a chance against a whole lot of opposition club names in this league but there's a certain cohesion missing or confidence has taken a hit. Near 30,000 crowds back at Portman Road are nonetheless good to see. You can't fault the crowd.

Only thing left to wonder being just how strong not only the players, but the managers resolve is going to be in the weeks ahead to turn it around and provide at least a succession of encouraging scores in which we provide ourselves a chance to retain top league status. You have to believe there's three worse teams than ourselves in this division, which will ultimately save us by end of final game.

Next few fixtures and trips we got lined up look, in so many words, intimidating.

Absolutely no apology necessary, but accepted with thanks anyway.
I'm not sensitive at all; but if I perceive an insult then I will retort, and then forget it and move on - that's why I ended my original reply to you with "rant over" :)

Most of our squad is not good enough for this league. No other manager will change that fact.

Mckenna is doing the best he can with what he has.
Disagree - it's true that our squad lacks the necessary class for this league - but there are other managers who would fare better simply by choosing tactics that are better suited to the players we have rather than expecting L1 and Championship standard players to play total football in the PL
Ok :)
