I might be completely wrong, which would be nothing unusual, but have a feeling that all this Whittaker speculation will turn out to be nonsense. As we know nearly all our transfer business is now done very much under the radar and it could turn out to be the case of when we sign somebody we will be saying “didn’t see that one coming”.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 12:58 pmIf there is foundation behind this, then prising Whittaker away from his Plymouth loan could throw a spanner in their works.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 10:34 amSwansea based Town fan says on twtd that Swansea have no interest in keeping Whittaker and are strapped for cash. I see that Plymouth have added to their strike force already -
"Argyle have fought off strong interest from a number of clubs, including Championship sides, to secure the signing of New Zealand international Ben Waine"
It seems that this player has been on their radar for about a year, so perhaps should not be seen as replacement, more just strengthening their team.

I agree, no reason for him to leave Plymouth, unless MK are financially desperateShed on tour wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 2:26 pmI might be completely wrong, which would be nothing unusual, but have a feeling that all this Whittaker speculation will turn out to be nonsense. Re: January Transfer Window
Interesting if you look up Morgan Whittaker on Wikipedia this morning, it shows his current club as Ipswich Town. !
To be honest I can’t see them selling him given he’s only 21 and scoring goals for fun.

We've put a new bid in for Jack Taylor, from Peterborough, 1 million, is he any good?

Re: January Transfer Window
As I said the other day even if Swansea do recall Whittaker I'm not sure that we are actually in for him. Even if we are I'm not sure I would be keen on a player coming to us who really didn't want to leave the club he was on loan with. ' The other thing I would say is although Plymouth have obviously found a way of getting the best out of him his previous loan spells at Lincoln and Derby were no where near as successful.
I certainly think that the Taylor link may have some legs in it though.

Re: January Transfer Window
if we can get Whittaker that would be a bloody good signing and one we really need.
As for Jack Taylor - do we really need another midfielder? I realise that players that can play a number of positions can be useful to some clubs - over the last 10 years we have been top-heavy with what were used to be called 'utility players', not sure we need any more now given the squad we have.

I must admit I'm struggling to see the need for Taylor, its about the one position in the team I didn't think would be strengthened.

The Taylor rumour does seem a strange one but I believe we were interested in him last summer and therefore there might be some truth in it.

Re: January Transfer Window
Can’t see us getting Whittaker now tbh he apparently has said he wants to stay at Plymouth. So guess that’s it really.
We need to get people over these next 10 days I think so they can be ready for next league game.

Any chance you guys would either want or go for Connor Wickhan back again now he’s left Forest Green?

Re: January Transfer Window
It would be a “no” from me, Ijjy. Not because of the theory that players retuning is bad, (i personally do not think that……. Would launch myself at the prospect of Rhodes)……. But never really rated Wickham and was floored with his £8M price-tag.
Big huge NO to CW from me.

Everyone on here seems to think we getting in a goal scorer...we look at it this way ..if we are. Then he needs to be better than who we have ..so we are looking at a footballer who has put away 15 or around that figure and very consistent .so if he is doing that..what club is going to let him go ...unless they are strapped for cash .and sell him...I don't think there is any one out there we can prise away. Think mckenna will go.to strengthen from.mid field back ..he knows we have the goal scorers .only hoping they will click

Re: January Transfer Window
Another draw for any possible signing would be seeing ITFC “no doubt” playing Championship football next season…….. another reason 1-1 draws v Stinkin linkin are nae gid.

Completely agree and for what it's worth I still maintain we don't need another striker, the numpty McKenna needs to play the ones that score goals, not the one's that don't.Denny61 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:15 pmEveryone on here seems to think we getting in a goal scorer...we look at it this way ..if we are. I made the point the other day about Aaron Collins from Bristol Rovers, he fits the bill you describe, now him I would sign and let Ahadme go.
Worryingly I read today Macauley Bonne is free to leave, that doesn't fill me with glee.

We likely just need another who can score goals, ie at present we have some players who can score but then we also bring on the likes of Jackson and Aluko - who offer other things (don’t get me wrong) but don’t score goals.Denny61 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:15 pmEveryone on here seems to think we getting in a goal scorer...we look at it this way ..if we are. Make sense? We might only need another 10 goals but that could make a big difference. For me when we had injuries we really lacked goal scoring replacements for those starters
