Needs to realise he's finished now.

Re: McCarthy gets the boot again!
Was a very short run there of just 14 games, only 2 of which were wins and the majority (9) defeats!
It does seem however that some old school managers can still succeed! Take Neil Warnock, 3 straight wins with Huddersfield and now out of the Championship relegation places.

The defending yesterday v Cardiff was shocking. If its been like that, surprised he lasted 14.

Clearly the fans' fault.

The difference is Neil Warnock is a motivational manager who can lift players and get them to play to their full potential and more whereas McCarthy’s personality is depressing and dour which is reflected in the way his teams play. I just happened to be watching the telly when he was interviewed after Blackpool lost at home to Cardiff last Saturday and it was shocking, I thought OMG how on earth do you still get employment, hopefully for the good of the game he won’t anymore.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 11:24 amWas a very short run there of just 14 games, only 2 of which were wins and the majority (9) defeats!

Talking of how far we have come, I just heard Flynn Downes come on as a sub for West Ham. Would anyone take him and Dozzell back in place of Morsy and Luongo? I know I certainly wouldn't want either of them - I love the Gamechanger folk!

Re: McCarthy gets the boot again!
Absolutely no way.

At the time, Downes & Dozzell were rated players but you've got to hope this current squad can be the Ipswich Town squad for the foreseeable future. It has clicked. They could also potentially be quite formidable in the Championship (if promoted)......, a few astute summer signings to bolster these guys would be all that is required.
Above based on past three highlights reels......., playing very well indeed. Best for a good long while.

I'd really love it if they were Downes' and Dozzell's age that's for sure.

Both players were good servants to the club, but we have much better quality now. They’re both getting good wages now, so I’m sure they’re not too bothered. I just hope they both remember to be a successful player at ITFC, you have to wear the shirt with pride. Not sure either of them grasped that concept, but good luck them.

I’ll reserve my comments about MM’s demise. Unfortunately, his approach & methods are well out dated. I’d have more sympathy for him if hadn’t disparaged the whole ITFC fan base because his feelings were hurt by a few numbskulls. He was very unprofessional at the end…and in my opinion didn’t do enough to support his position. (Cue Valleyroad lol!)

Re: McCarthy gets the boot again!
Some things can't be said but McCarthy wasn't fired, he walked away of his own volition. Quit under his own terms, wasn't forced out or asked to leave.
Feel kind of sympathy for the individual but McCarthy is something of a managerial degenerate. Would have been arguably competent or efficient at one time or another but it goes so far into the past it's kind of tough to track it.
Has become a figure of ridicule in recent years. The best or only alternative left is retire from the game while any shred of decency remains intact.

Lol, ah that old chestnut ….. “ I leave before I get fired” approach . Strange how he’s walked before his fired in just about all his previous managerial posts. The man and his tactics and football knowledge are positively prehistoric.
He should just leave the game now , but if he fancies one more pop at managing I think there’s a position soon to become available again at Chelsea . It should suit him right down to the ground because it’s a club full of egotistical pricks!

Had a blackpool fan over at the house yesterday. He said the fans hated Micks style, zero surprise there, but he also said Blackpool have been ravaged by injuries all season, 4 defenders out long term and no fit forwards at present etc.
Likely they will go down he said.

Anyone who tells Roy Keane to fnck off whilst in Saipan is not all that bad.
