Re: Transfer Rumours
Who is Derby manager now anyhow, they seem to change coaches there as often as socks and underwear. Was never really sold on El Mizouni here, may have weighed in with one or two goals last season and believe featured prominently throughout the calendar but wasn't a name that came to the fore all too often. Don't think Harper will be any great loss, didn't appear to feature all too often and would be going out almost as soon as coming in.
Can we offload Nicky Hayes, can't remember him ever starting a game for us unless nature of event was so obscure it doesn't warrant mention. Was or never is going to be ahead of Walton or Vaclav for goal duties. Just seems wasted or surplus with us.
Jackson and Pigott (when any loan deal ends) can go also. We got a multitude of attacking options and some names are clearly more (and going to be) reliable than those stated. Can't waste any further time on this.

I don't think El Mizouni will be a loan, I would think we want him out of the building.

I think Edmundson needs to be released. Too many f*ck ups that led to draws or losses. Come on MA/KM, get him the f*ck out! Replace him ffs!

Re: Transfer Rumours
I’d say we’re in competition with Sunderland, Stoke, Blackburn for Simms , and awaiting the likes of Leicester to sort themselves out before they decide what to do with Hirst. If they’re going to sell him we’ll probably have competition for him too, but the fact he clearly loved it here I’d say if all of that above were true we’d be in pole position to get him.
Defenders? Who knows ….

Re: Transfer Rumours
From what I have been reading this morning I think Simms will probably end up back at Sunderland, hope I am wrong though.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Guys, with all the attention on Simms I think we are going to bring in someone else, there are not many others linked which I have a feeling (which is more than likely wrong lol) we are going under the radar, what about the likes of Yates or Bishop? Also could there be a few more heading out the door before we see arrivals. I am hoping we get this 'El Miz' issue resolved soon too, a loan is not enough.
We are also thinking about a forward coming in next but im hoping it will be 1 or 2 CB's, certainly adds to an exciting time

Re: Transfer Rumours
We are being linked with a Forest striker now which if true suggested we’ve moved on from Simms and possibly Hirst.
Colby Bishop do you mean? Don’t think he’d be good enough now, he scored most, of his goals from the penalty spot last season I believe.
Twitter post re Forest player.
Ipswich have added Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge to their wish list. Surridge has Championship admirers while Everton frontman Ellis Simms remains a target. Interest in Portsmouth’s Colby Bishop cooled for now but a new striker a priority at Portman Road. #itfc #NFFC

Re: Transfer Rumours
Yes, thats the boy Liz, thought he was ok so threw it out there
I was trying to get away from all these Ellis rumours and put alternatives out there, with the new rumour of this 'Sam Surridge' now doing the rounds, dare say trying to drum up interest in him. Tbh cannot say ive heard of him, Sturridge yes but not this lad. Any ideas if he is much cop? will have to google him and check out Youtube and NF forum for snippets.
Oh to be a fly on the wall in MA's office.

It's a no from me I looked at Surrage and he is 24 years old and 6 ft 3 ins which is good but 2 goals in 20 for Stoke 7 in 17 for Forest in the Championship and just 1 in 20 in the prem, he did get a few more in cup games but I think we need better .

As a fan I agree, but lets be honest, you (and I) just did a quick WIKI check, the club will be much more indepth in their scouting of targets.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 1:04 pmIt's a no from me I looked at Sturrage and he is 24 years old and 6 ft 3 ins which is good but 2 goals in 20 for Stoke 7 in 17 for Forest in the Championship and just 1 in 20 in the prem, he did get a few more in cup games but I think we need better .
I personally suspect we will hear nothing about a player until right before they sign, the club is very good at that.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Reading those stats Cabanas I too would rather have Simms or Hirst, I am being told Surridge is more of a Keiffer Moore type, who to be fair has done ok since leaving us, but if that is the case it doesn't really fit in with the style of Football we play.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Regarding Ellis, reading in what Carlton Palmer has to say, who is he anyway, some ex-mediocre footballer which I class in the same niche as bigmouth Sutton trying his hand at punditry.....
What does Carlton Palmer make of Ipswich Town’s pursuit of Ellis Simms?
Carlton Palmer understands why a £4 million offer was turned down, claiming that Everton will need more to make a deal worthwhile.
The former midfielder believes Ipswich will need to find another £2 to 3 million to complete the move.
“It is believed that Ipswich Town have had an increased offer of £4 million turned down for the player Simms,” Palmer told Football League World.
“I think there is a ceiling on what a team will pay for a player in the Championship.
“But, Ipswich will be looking to get promotion out of the Championship next season.
“It might well be close to £6 or 7 million that Everton might accept for him.”
The lad is fairly good yes but he is in his last year and finding it hard to get into the starting X1, is he worth 6-7 Mill, I do not think so. Everton just managed to avoid relegation so they are not that great a team (no offence Evertonians) so I would move on.
Tbh Carlton try your hand at coaching or maybe get into politics, should fit straight in.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I kind of agree, I can actually see is spending 5-10m total this season but wouldn’t fancy 7m on an unproven player, would rather spread the money out over 3-4 players.
Only thing that does annoy me a tad is when people say ‘we can do better’ - ok fine but WHO, give examples of who would be good and available for say sub 4m. It’s likely not an easy market to fish in, you’re either buying league one players and hoping they can step up, or prem players who haven’t made it.
Championship players are likely hard to prise away and might cost a lot as any good ones will be prem targets.
Or go the foreign leagues option - which is a risk too.

Re: Transfer Rumours
The only ones I can think of are the ones already banded about, Jonson Clarke-Harris or Jerry Yates, or what about Keinan Davis?
It is harder than it looks to find someone who would be a decent price and could perform at this level, can appreciate the difficulty they are going through.

I would be very disappointed with our club if we spunked 6 or 7 Million quid on Ellis.

Derby now I’m got El Miz. I can’t get rid of this nagging feeling that we may about to let a little gem slip through our fingers here!

I only saw there was a link with a loan move for him to derby?
