Re: Transfer Rumours
You think so ? I just don't think he's all that based on what I've seen of him, pretty lightweight, doesn't dominate games, no goal threat and pretty weak in the tackle.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 8:05 pmDerby now I’m got El Miz. I can’t get rid of this nagging feeling that we may about to let a little gem slip through our fingers here!

Thing is we don’t know really do we, coz he’s not had a sniff at the senior squad . Just got a feeling we might regret it . Put it this way I could see him doing well next season- just needs to get his next club right. It clearly won’t be at Town. But I’ll watch with interest to see how he does.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I've really liked him when I've seen him play, but that's probably more of a comment on the lack of football I get to see, rather than him.
If we were a league 1 club, then I would be pretty desperate to see him given the opportunity, but at championship level, I guess there is less of a chance that we're losing a real asset.

Spot on.
Suspect well loan him to league one this season and if he does well we could take up his extra year contract option.
I’d only be happy to sell if we got £500k and some heavy sell ons.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Personally I think we have seen enough to know he wouldn't be selected in our team to compete in the Championship, the fact KM isn't busting a gut to keep him here backs that up.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Not seen or heard a sausage about him and Swansea Mike. But saying that jogged my cogs, Whittaker was loaned to Plymouth until we apparently went sniffing, he is a Swansea player, do you think maybe he could be out the door soon and heading our way?

Re: Transfer Rumours
I'm not sure we'll be looking at anymore Midfield type players tbh, we've still got seven on the books and then add to that Chaplin, Harness, Edwards as attacking type midfielders. I wouldn't say no to Whittaker over say Harness though.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Can only see Whittaker being sold , so not sure Ply Mouth will get him, snd he won’t come here now.
Simms to Swansea? Clearly lacks ambition then lol

Re: Transfer Rumours
No I haven't but for me I don't need to, he isn't good enough for where we want to go, anyone can see that, including Mckenna. I haven't seen anything of George Best in the last 12 months but I know he could play.

Re: Transfer Rumours
El Miz and Baggott both going out on loan then. Good. To me it suggests we see something in them both and don’t look to be offloading …

Re: Transfer Rumours
McKenna interview today ….
https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-new ... -both-ways
I’ll be honest here snd say Simms might well be our most expensive signing this summer, as it often is for a striker. Which leads me to feel it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility that we might see a couple of current senior squad players leaving that are not on fans radar of expected departure.
It goes without saying that players such as Piggot will be leaving. And just because us fans (well most) haven’t really considered defenders coming or going, it wouldn’t surprise me if we lose one or two of those as well as a couple of current attacking and midfield players. Next 10 days will probably reveal a lot and once one or two leave then we might see either Simms or Hirst ( or both?) come in …..

Re: Transfer Rumours
George best has had his career, so the evidence on him is clear. El Miz is very young, and just starting his adult
Career - I’m sure people said Kane wasn’t upto much in his early years….
What I’m saying is he is developing and has meant to have improved dramatically during the past season, yes I agree we can’t be sure if he is good enough to make the grade - as you say especially ‘where we want to go’
As the club is moving fast.
However I feel a loan at league one is a solid option, if he impresses again then he can have a shot here in the champ or maybe move on for a decent fee. It’s only worth selling if the fee is strong and right now that’s not too likely I’d imagine.

Re: Transfer Rumours
It has been very quiet on the Piggott front, don't you think? It seems he has no future here and for me a loan out again seems pointless as he's not going to make the grade here! Hopefully sold to a League 1 side?

Re: Transfer Rumours
I think the fact that so many clubs are clammer8mg to sign him up, should be an indication of what the boy potentially has to offer. I’d want us to give him a go at some point so that we can see what’s in his locker. If it’s not in there, fair enough, sell him.shabba wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 5:46 pmGeorge best has had his career, so the evidence on him is clear. El Miz is very young, and just starting his adult

Re: Transfer Rumours
Nah, I agree with you. I think we will be selling him. I think there’ll be a big rush of activity all at once with 2-3 players leaving then a day or so later, some coming in, but suspect we’ll see players leave first.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 5:51 pmIt has been very quiet on the Piggott front, don't you think? Re: Transfer Rumours
Piggot likely either a loan or a free where we have to pay out some of his contract, he will be in decent wages as and I highly doubly anyone will match them. Could see him going back to league one and maybe Pompy nearer the end of the window - it’ll take time due to the wages and stand offs between clubs etc.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 6:50 pmNah, I agree with you. Reality is it’s very early days in the transfer window!

Re: Transfer Rumours
I think if people read McKenna's comments properly he has actually said El Mizouni needs to get the right move for himself next summer.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I think someone then questioned whether Phil Ham wrote the report up correctly, eg did he mean this summer or next summer.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Yeah I saw that, I do feel it's Mckenna saying he'll be leaving the club next summer so get the right loan this time around.
There is definitely interest in the boy so it will be interesting to see where he ends up, I can't see a return to Leyton Orient being on the cards what with a couple of Championship teams plus Derby County all showing interest but which ever path he takes I wish him well.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Burns has been injured I understand that’s why he wasn’t with Broadhead In Welsh squad recently. Burgess I’m not sure….
Like I said we could be surprised at who leave
With re to El Miz, I’m sure he will eventually leave. But him going out on loan again and being sold makes me think Town are still looking at him.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I can see Evans and Jackson leaving...Evans cos his prone to injury and Jackson as his main role is being a pacy winger..but that just doesn't work when we have so many midfielders both holding and attacking....so.mckenna now with bringing in Taylor and either simms or hirst. .hes intentions are clear where he wants the ball to be played

Got to be a wind up, he us old and not what we are after, just got shot of Keezy so what is the point of this apparent addition?

Re: Transfer Rumours
I’d be happy to get Hirst back, and that lad from Crystal Palace on loan. We just need some defensive reinforcements…dare I say, an American CB?
