Re: Non Ipswich transfers
They allow their arguable best forward to join Notts County and (aim to) bring in someone who must be by now even beyond twilight stage of a career. Kind of bizarre, hope it's not a replacement of sorts but what they do is really their own business.
Not sure if kane has made the jump to Munich yet but they played an exhibition game today and won 27 (twenty-seven) - 0 or something. Kind of asks the question do they even need him - they seem to be being doing just fine as they are.
Ironically for the money you could save, Brighton Hove Albion rejected an offer of some 70 million for one of their players also. Seventy million at Brighton (?), the game's going to hell in a hand basket.

Ampadu off to leads for £7m, seems alot, but it shows the level for the higher champsionship clubs.
Coventry have also signed Latibeaudiere, meant to be v good and someone who was linked with us earlier in the window.
We can't forget how strong sides in their league are going to be, its really not going to be an easy task.

I feel it shows the un level playing field and advantage Sky money affords to the Championship clubs recently relegated from the PL.

I guess it’s no different to the advantage we had last year in League 1 with Gamechanger’s money.
I think we’ll still have an advantage over some even in the Championship and as Luton proved last season, there’s more to it that money alone.

Agree! As I said previously there are 3 tiers of clubs in this league and we are in the middle.Charnwood wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 1:41 pmhallamblue wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 11:44 amI feel it shows the un level playing field and advantage Sky money affords to the Championship clubs recently relegated from the PL.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
It'd be no use to anyone. Imagine how long it'd take for the two teams to play each other again if they were placed down there and we're back at Second League level.
Point being I don't like them as much as the next but it's kind of exciting that we're going to tangle again next season after so many years apart. We owe them a defeat it's been so long since a last victory. Right now, with the progress (we've) made and they seem on a decline after Farke's departure many (fans of either / neutral analysists etc) would favor us to take three points at the first opportunity both teams face off. Even many on Pink Un' message board a while back were honest enough to expect a tough game and us to get past them.

I’m surprised scum have sold him, given that Aaron’s is likely to be leaving. Their signings don’t look all that really, do they.

Yes another v good signing for them, and £1m+ so they have spent a couple of million already, after saying they'd have the smallest budget in the league.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 4:57 pmIt looks like Plymouth are giving it a go that have signed Mumba from Norwich so two good signings so far.
I also see Barnes has gone for for £38m, so Leicester have tkane in around £80m now, they have spent a little but still its what they needed this season so seems a sensible rebuild, no doubt they will be right up there still.
Defintley some more transfer activity happening now across the league.

Colback signed for QPR on 2 year deal.
Mavididi (ST) signed for Leicester - wonder if Daka/Vardy/Inaacho will leave as they also have Ings.
Re Lutons interest in Walton, they have had a big for Alex Palmer (GK at WBA) rejected.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
Cant believe its 12 years since Jack Colback was @ ITFC. Time flies.
Scores on average 4 goals for every club he’s been at……. so there are 4 goals minimum for QPR this season!
Always rated Jack…… nice career he’s had and only 33.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
spurs have declined an offer of believe 85 million from Bayern Munich for Kane - the North London avarice c*cks, sorry, club, now won't sell unless someone (the Germans / some other damn fools) hand over 100 (one hundred) million for the player.
Maybe it's me but can't always understand certain "nonsense" that goes on out there. Two weeks back they wanted 70 million, then 75, lo and behold it's now getting way beyond farcical. Can see it now : some sucker paying 120, 125 Million for the player if Tottenham get their way.
He's a 30 year old man that scores a few, all right, regular goals, Yes he's good, but they talk it up like it's Gerd Muller, Puskas and Dixie Dean all rolled into one at their peak of their abilities. Get any damn deal signed and done with, getting kind of irritated with some of the transfer (or lack of) stuff out there.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
They got to within one goal of a play-off finish last season (a few weeks back in actual fact) and Bialkowski would have played a pivotal part in that progress and near achievement. He did well for us here, had some real standout games over time but once he went over to London naturally (personal) interest in the player lessened.
Guessing on the basis of last season alone Bialkowski would, or should have been, one of Lions most influential players but since they fell short at the very end they'll maybe decide to let go or the goalkeeper himself would pick to play elsewhere. They've had some real standout names in goal over time : Kasey Keller, Tim Howard for example. Guess Bialkowski deserves his place among the more elite.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
Bart was vastly overrated . He played in a poor Town side and was protected by 10men behind the ball McCarthy approach. He couldn’t kick the ball, ( often booted it out of play and rarely past the half way line), he couldn’t catch the ball, and rarely came off his line. He was however an outstanding reflex keeper, but that was not enough. He got POTY ( he was good in his first year with us), but Waghorn should have had it the following year. For some fans Bart could do no wrong, but others he flattered to deceive and often caused goals against by some poor decision making. I would hate to see him back here.

Absolutely spot on Hallam, vastly overrated doesn't come close, probably the worst kicker of a ball I've ever seen and I'm not exaggerating.
