Sam Morsy

With current rumours circulating that Sam Morsy could be on the move, who do we think was the last Town player to be of equal or more importance to the Town team than Sam Morsy is now ?

I was thinking as far back as Johnny Walk but I guess it’s hard to compare when you think Sam has only been with us for such a short time and despite his contribution wasn’t even our Player of the Season.

I was thinking Holland too. We had Daryl Murphy as a one season wonder but hardly reliant on him. Marcus Stewart?

The Marks are coming together here - definitely Matt Holland.

Id say Matt Holland too, if we went back a bit further Mick Mills.

Holland, Mills, but who can forget Magic Magilton in the middle of the park!! I STILL love watching the Town vs Bolton play off semi highlights from PR… what a night that was…Magilton was possessed

Good shout Liz 👍

I think reading between the lines we mostly we agree it’s a long time since we’ve had such an influential player as Sam Morsy in the team. He’s simply the heart and engine of the team that inspires and drives this around him. Hopefully he can repeat this level of performance in this seasons Championship, I certainly see no reason why he shouldn’t although of course he will be competing against players of a much higher standard.
