Just wanted to ask, with Hirst off the mark and Kayden proving he can compete, and Freddie is still yet to get his chance, do you think we still need another striker in addition?

IF we can get JRS that would it as far as I am concerned up front anyway, we just need a CB for competition as the boys seem to be holding their own at this moment in time, maybe something to address come NY should we need to.

All I’d say is if news came out that Hirst was injured for 2-3 months then how would you feel? That’ll give you the answer.

Personally I’d like to maybe see one more coke on who can play RW and upfront.

Looking at Hirst yesterday I would say we deffo need another striker, he looked knackered from about 20 minutes in.

Post match comments by Stuart Watson ( I think), says that he’d out in a shift closing down their defenders in the first half, and just ran out of steam , but that he’s not had the same pre season that the rest of the squad has, because it took so long to get him into the club. In fact he didn’t arrive until after pre season was over. But we definitely need another striker and CB. We’re down to our two main CB’s as it is now, with Edmundson out injured and we only have Freddie and George as our main strikers.

I’m hopeful we’ll still win the battle to sign in-demand Crystal Palace loanee Jesrun Rak-Sakyi who would be a perfect season long loan for Kieran McKenna. I think the player would benefit from Kieron’s coaching and for this reason alone I think we may just pip Leicester City when it comes to decision time.

I said similar a week or so ago Andy. Town have a lot to offer young players at a certain stage in their career. He’d also be more likely to get minutes here than Leicester I think.

Personally it seems to me that any business Town are in for seems to go beneath the newspaper radars these days. Where there is foundation and strong rumours it seems it is never reported on alla the Hirst signing.

Said it before but he’ll likely go to a European side - he can play at a high level club and away from the English media.

He will be on decent wages etc and is way too good for the championship.

I guess it's a good comment about the quality we already have, the fact that we're finding it so hard to bring in players that could improve the squad. Also allows us to step away from these deals if they get silly.

Not exactly true No 9. Last season Palace released 6 players out on loan including Rak-Sakyi who spent the season at Charlton. I suspect a similar number will go out on loan this season too. I’m just not sure about J R-S who appears to be on the verge of breaking into the first team and didn’t look out of place during his 15 mins or so on the pitch last night v Arsenal.
