What signal is this sending to Freddie? a 19yo spotted face oik named after a scandinavian strawberry is coming in to potentially replace you, great motivation that and does not fill me with boundless joy and enthusiasm. But if it comes off we will see what the young lad can do, hopefully KM will not drop a howler like the Brandon lad.

On a bit of a downer all so apologies for an negativity, by tomorrow the drugs will kick in lol.

What makes you think he is coming in to replace Freddie ? I don't see he's replacing anyone tbh, more a case of an extra body, we only really have Hirst and Ladapo as recognised out and out strikers, that's not enough.

Mike, I just worry about Freddie thats all, nothing really to back anything up, I would like to see him get more startups and minutes to hopefully compete with last years tally. Also think I am slight disappointed we did not get anyone more experienced in, think I am having a off day maybe, ignore me.

His interview is dire, but he is a young lad to be fair.

I know KM likes him and he has looked lively against us, he may even end up RW as well as being a striker option.

I don’t feel he raises the level though and as it’s a loan that’s a shame as you’d at least want that when it’s not your player (different if you know they will be better in the future and still at your club).

I thought the same about Williams tbf. But as long as these boys perform on the pitch, who cares I guess?

Luckily we've got a few at the club (I'm thinking Morsy and Luongo) who come across as pretty intelligent in interviews IMO. Edmundson is pretty funny too.

I’m not in the slightest concerned about Brandon Williams and feel confident he’ll come good. I know nothing about Dane Scarlett but these young fringe Premiership players should be more than good enough to perform at Championship level.
Freddie probably won’t be feeling good about it but in my opinion I’m not sure if he’s up to Championship level either.
I’ve no reason yet to mistrust KMc’s judgement so I’ll just go along with if, at least for the meantime.

Ipswich have reportedly had a six-figure bid for Louie Marsh rejected from Sheffield United. The forward is available for loan and is looking to establish himself at senior level.

Anyone else heard this one ?

Odd - he seems an attacking midfielder? Sort of like Taylor?

Seems odd to me too Shabba, source was in Sheffield news earlier today, maybe they got the interested club wrong.

Well it’s looking like we won’t be getting anymore defensive help. I’m sure MA tried very hard, but it’s disappointing nonetheless. It seems like the plan is to score a lot of goals and probably concede a lot of goals…and see what happens. Unfortunately I’m revising my initial prediction of us making the playoffs. It ain’t gonna happen with our current defense and lack of experience. If we lose Morsy for whatever reason, it could get ugly.

I hope I’ll eat my words and everything will be alright. Just not feeling confident at the moment.

I just don't think at this moment we've done nearly enough strengthening of the squad.
Hirst was already here, Slicker won't hardly play, Hutchinson possibly adds a little bit at end of games but won't start, Taylor will be behind Morsy and Luongo and just looks okish, Williams jury out but looks bang average at best and Scarlett time will tell.

We need at least another quality CB and was kinda holding out hope of Rak-Sakyi.

All in all with a day to go I'm uninspired and somewhat disappointed if I'm honest.

TWTD understands Oxford United are closing in on the season-long loan signing of Blues winger Kyle Edwards ahead of this evening’s 11pm transfer deadline.

Speaking three weeks ago, manager Kieran McKenna revealed that he and the 25-year-old had agreed that the former West Brom man needed to move on to play more regular football.

If the deal goes through, Edwards will become the second Town player to sign for Liam Manning’s League One U’s this summer, following left-back Greg Leigh, who joined in a permanent move.

Town will be looking to add another centre-half to their squad before the window slams shut having recruited striker Dan Scarlett yesterday.

The South London Press is reporting that Charlton are keen on Blues frontman Freddie Ladapo, however, we understand that despite Scarlett’s signing Town would not be prepared to allow the former Rotherham man to move on. Although that could potentially change should they be offered an alternative. Leeds forward Joe Gelhardt has been linked but with Town sources playing down the claims of interest.

Edwards’s departure would mean Town have 25 players who qualify for the EFL squad but one of those is fourth-choice keeper Nick Hayes, who would be left out if he isn’t found another club to join on loan before the end of the day.

Manager McKenna has also been weighing-up whether to send centre-half Elkan Baggott and midfielder Cameron Humphreys out on loan. Baggott’s temporary exit could depend on the Blues’ securing another senior central defender before the close of play today.

I could see Cathcart still appearing here, still a free agent, and if he was settled in Watford its not a huge distance.

Wouldn't be inspiring but might add that experienced CB. All a bit too Keogh-like for me though.

What is going on with Phil Jones? KM will know him, has a horrific injury record but maybe a pay as you play? He is a quality player but I don't know if he just hasn't been fit or if he just hasn't been in the plans of the UTD managers due to much better quality available.
Meant to be a good Pro too.

I can't help but feel that if Cathcart comes in it's because we've failed to nail our targets. Time is ticking and still nothing breaking, plenty of business being done elsewhere though.

Agree.

Re other business, anything you've seen and thought 'oh thats a nice move' and one you'd have liked? I've not personally, maybe the u21 CB who just went to Southampton from City on loan, U21 england captain I think and did v well at Burnley last year.

Tom Cannon to Leicester for big money stands out, a whole host of clubs were after him.

Cardiff just secured a defender from Forest and Birmingham signed Leeds fullback.

Would prefer to see Humphries and Baggott stay. Better to keep the best up and comers in the frame.

We only have to let Elkan have a run occasionally to have 250+ million supporters onside. No brainer.

It’s looking like KM rates Edmundson and is satisfied with Ball as a backup which is baffling to say the least.
