Blackburn looked liked scoring a 4th but that Strike from Luongo was a RocketAzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 4:42 pmOMG what a game. Certainly value for money, but the fans will be needing fingernail transplants!!!

Watching BBC final score, having read on EADT we looked like we were running out of juice. I really thought the goal had gone Blackburn's way!lucy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 4:45 pmBlackburn looked liked scoring a 4th but that Strike from Luongo was a RocketAzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 4:42 pmOMG what a game. Re: Championsip - Ipswich Town vs Blackburn Rovers Preview & Matchday Thread
Thankfully the game ended when it did from an attacking viewpoint. The longer it went, it could've turned for the critics to pounce....., ie, 29 shots, 11 on target, and 4 goals. ------ >> which is great.
But...., so close to being a "Ok, GET SCORING MORE!" type scenario with chances created.
But yep, great character defensively to hold on and get the win after being hauled back to 3 a piece.
Fantastic day at the office for all at Portman Road and Morgan Whittaker in Cornwall.

OMG, I swear I was in bloody heart failure through that last 10 mins …. Blackburn were a really good side and seemed to slice through our defence at will. If they had a better striking end they’d be promotion candidates for sure .
Our goals were amazing today but our defence looked paper thin and fragile at times today . Really outstanding game for the neutral .
Now having a cuppa then a shower ( biking up the hill post match finishes me off!!!
), and then a lie down !!
The scum result is the cherry

The atmosphere at the ground is phenomenal these days … although having said that I’d say today’s atmosphere was slightly quieter than it has been in many of the other games this season. Not sure if it was the fact that we were playing Blackburn - they don’t install a wow factor on paper do they . But they were a VERY VERY good attacking side. They’ll rip a few sides apart this season I think.

I’d agree with all that. Blackburn looked good going forward and made our defence look poor. We allowed much too much space down the wings, and the result could have gone either way. We created more chances I think, but Hladky made some good saves second half.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 6:04 pmOMG, I swear I was in bloody heart failure through that last 10 mins …. Overall an exciting game and delighted we ended up winning. We nearly scored right at the start of the second half; if we had I think it would have been game over. We aren’t clinical enough but we played some good football. After Blackburn made it 3-3, our supporters seemed to be very restless, criticising every mistake.

I B said exactly that to bloke stiff in front of me. Thst next goal was absolutely crucial , and don’t kill teams off on the back of all our chances created.Andym wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 6:28 pmWe nearly scored right at the start of the second half; if we had I think it would have been game over. I think Williams / Hutchinson are a far more effective right side of the team than Clarke / Burns in both attacking and defending. I am looking forward to seeing this Axel guy in our defence , and I’d pair him with Burgess.

Only got the score within last half-hour, first reaction one of surprise than enthralment. Missed a dandy or game for the ages although shall endeavor to catch highlights at a later time. Must have been some afternoon at the stadium, you can't buy action like that.
That Norwich score in South West was kind of intriguing. Haven't viewed the Pink Un as yet but final word, got to say f*ck them in all truth. Irony is this weekend 30 years back they traveled to Everton and took away a 5 - 1 win, Efan Ekoku ran riot. Should know, was there for it.
Couldn't imagine would wait 30 years for some level of atonement.

He was so dangerous when he came in x as bd kept pinging great balls into the box but no one seemed capable of getting into the Box at that point to get on the end of them.smaltydude wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 7:54 pmHutchinson looked brilliant today. Loads of potential in him
Dane Scarlett disappointed me . He either has bugger all pace or is just plain lazy . Minimal true closing from from him and he’d only just come onto the pitch . The rest of the team clearly needing a breather at that point in the game so why wasn’t he putting it about more? I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t that impressed by him last season at Pompey. I think most of his goals came from the penalty spot. Hopefully McK will spin his magic .

He was so good when he came on, seriously must be right on to replace burns soon as a starter.
He is getting better and better, all hail super KM! What a coach he is.
Some game today! This season is nuts!
