Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
He did nothing at Spurs and was sacked after a very short spell and sacked again after little more than a season in the Saudi Pro League. He’d have probably been best too have stayed at Wolves where he was their longest serving manager in their Premier League era.

Just watched that Shabba.
thanks for posting it.
Awesome story tbh and I wasn’t aware of the ins and outs behind B&HA getting that new stadium. I certainly remember going to the Goldstone ground to watch Town though. Think we lost lol !

Good result for Preston, why the earth couldn't we have done that? Hope the lads turn up tonight, could do with restoring the points gap, and getting one over on the leaders.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
It was probably how we played against. I’d jour usual open, attacking play. Naive at least. All we needed was a point. Now we have to win tonight ….

I’m watching Chelsea/Crystal Palace and I’ve noticed how much quicker the play is in the Premier League. Something to think about if we do get promoted.

BHA against Spurs was a cracker …. It gives me hope that when Town do get promoted that we could compete in the PL like Brighton currently do.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
I’ve seen them Twice recently on tv and I thought Saints looked quite a slow team compared to Leeds and Leicester…. We don’t play them until April. Just have to hope the budgies can beat them but I’m not holding my breath tbh

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Been far too busy to be involved in this game or attempt to catch up although appears didn't miss much. Got a final score late, read some replies, game stats et cetera but initial reaction (being) there's some overriding sense of disappointment that not only we didn't win, we couldn't score one single goal against this opposition.
Seems there were a number of factors involved, we got a weakened squad, a number of players omitted through suspension or illness and there were an incident of sorts in the crowd that may have held play up or affected our own players but can't put forth the exact reason as to why we were held in a game over 90 minutes in a fixture we really should be taking three points from.
McKenna admitted himself the performance wasn't good enough ? We didn't really show up or it were a game that never really ignited. No wins in 4 games right about now, it's not pessimism or to really criticize but a statement of fact. Southampton are almost now right on our as* while LCFC move further ahead, first place is going to be real tough to accomplish but say again second will do it for us.
Just realized wrote this in the non-Town game section (and) not the official game thread. Can't cut and paste from here so it'll have to stay where it is unless Admins can move it to the relevant section. Not going to edit and start again damn it.

Two London derby losses in a row for Arteta.
Couple of coupon bursters.

Half time and both Leicester and Leeds winning. Southampton being held by the Budgies. I can quite happily lets LCFC go, but maintaining (or increasing) the gap between us and the Saints is key today.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
I was looking at the Southampton lineup formation of 3-4-2-1 that they have been using in games and today's game against Norwich who used a 5-4-1 defensive line, the 5 defence operated in an arc shape, but the Saints mastered the game but just couldn't score until the 75th minute though the prolific Adam Armstrong only for Norwich sub-Sargent to come on and get the 78th-minute equaliser and give us a good result. Thank you Norwich about time you gave us something.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
And that’s what happens when you don’t take your chances, Arsenal! Game of two halves I feel. Liverpool far better second half….
And what struck me was how Konatz was defending and covering his right back colleague when he was struggling with Arsenal left back is what Woolfie should be able do as good defending principles for the Town right back .

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
They did provide some standout games years back, things like the '71 Final and the 1980 semi that went on and on. Don't like either team but be a cold day in hell when wish for a Liverpool victory so hope the London team did it again. Don't know no score.
League Cup semis this week or something. Can't be impartial, want Middlesbrough to win it again. Would be good for a 20 year anniversary and they deserve something back after the injustice of yesterday. Fulham would make a change from the usual rabble getting their hands on something.

I was thinking the same, and no VAR. Proper cup tie.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 7:33 pmHave to say I thought that ref was fantastic in letting the game flow. Felt like a typical blood & thunder game at times.

The miracle is it wasn't deemed necessary to interfere with the on pitch decisions.
Different standards/tolerances perhaps over a PL match leaving the on field officials to get on with it.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Anybody see the lad from Everton getting sent off in the FA cup last Friday against Crystal Palace?
Dominic Calvert-Lewin the Everton striker made a superb sliding tackle. Ref very close, let play carry on. Yet VAR got involved
Shocking and possibly most talked about incident of the 3rd round
