Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
I'll grant you that for sure.
I think the commentator made the point on the Calvert-Lewin red card, why are they watching and judging in slow motion, everything looks like a foul in slow motion. The speed at which a player enters a challenge is important, that can only be judged at full speed and CL slid in to the challenge slowly and controlled. Ramble ramble, grumble grumble. It's like watching the bloody Government during the virus, it's times like these that you get to see that the powers that be have absolutely no clue what they're doing! Grumble.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
My intake on VAR for what its worth.
VAR is a good idea, its not VAR that making these horrendous and quite frankly mind blowing interventions, its the people who are looking at the screens. VAR is meant to come in when on field officials make clear and obvious mistakes, yet that's not happening. The people sitting there are just not doing what the system is there for. Whether its coaching them to know what is clear and obvious or the people just not up to the task who knows.
Another thing I can not get my head around is why VAR in the FA cup is allowed at Premier league clubs only. How can a competition have VAR for some and not all? Easy enough to deal with, shut the system down full stop

Wouldn't it be great for on field official to actually come out and say "No, I'm happy with my original decision" ?Ricco wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 11:33 amI'll grant you that for sure.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Wouldn't it just. I'm sure I can remember it happening, I think in an international, but it's probably 1 in what? 1000?! I guess the refs are just scared because their mate upstairs has more time to look at it, more control to look at it, a better monitor and no sweat in their eyes... so they just go with it, it would be their big mistake if they went against their chum's advice, but it's deemed not their fault if they just go with it?
Ah it's all pathetic!! I need Hallam in here to chuck me about some swear words!

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Its happened up here on a couple occasions at Easter Road from memory. But i think mainly due to Steven McLean knowing the VAR team in the booth were no doubt on the Tartan Special and pished.

As expected Liverpool pulls through. Should make for an interesting encounter at Craven Cottage for the second leg.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
They’re clearly using these cup games to bring in their younger players with support from the bench of the more experienced players aren’t they. Good strategy from their perspective.

Norwich’s win at Hull puts them 2 points off a playoff spot.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
seems VAR bullshit occurred again in the EPL. Don't care much for either Luton or Burnley - but do care that week after week seems some level of incompetence or injustice goes on where the officials can't seem to get a thing right and video intervention causes all level of disarray and confusion. Never been an advocate of what they do. It's supposed to assist or make things clearer but in truth, it's a mess.
The 'other team from above county' got a win also, they won't get no promotion but irritated they were real poor not so long back and now putting scores and results together. Whether you want to agree or disagree They might have improved, but believe left it too late in a season to realistically trouble the relevant promotion places.

Went to see Morton play at Elgin several years ago. Drove up from Clacton during the night before the game and going along the A9 the outside temperature was showing as -8. Thought there is no way this game is going to be on and tbh I wish it hadn’t been as it ended up 0-0 and was one of the worst games of football I’ve ever seen.
Immediately after the game went straight to check in at the hotel where we were staying for the night and fell asleep immediately and didn’t wake up until the next morning. That was the highlight of the trip!

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
Nothing worse than a sh*t game and no goals. On a stag weekend away many years back, ventured to the hedgefkrs for City v Alloa. 0-0. Dire game of football. And two bottles o gaviscon after the brechin bridies.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 11:59 amWent to see Morton play at Elgin several years ago. Was speaking about the 'not to be talked of' with a Norwich fan this morning, saying how I'd hate the thought of it! The only previous time was excruciating enough!hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 1:05 pmYip, they’re creeping up the table aren’t they.

Re: NON IPSWICH MATCHES
So Leicester lose at Coventry.
Win today and only 7 points in it.
Have been wondering why all and sundry have them winning the league just because they have opened up such a big gap by mid season.
Didn't do Wednesday any good last year did it?

Yeah, everyone around us winning, not great and unwelcome extra pressure on the important and tough game later. We'll need to show lots of courage, that's for sure.
