You make me laugh, Charny. I’ve avoided having another live in since divorced in early 2000s. Still try hard to keep the females happy in my immediate family, but they really don’t know what’s important when it comes to ITFC.

Re: The Title Run In..........
I’m fairly lucky in that respect 9 as my wife is happy for me to watch every Ipswich game live on tv and we work our social life around that. I usually watch another two live premier league games over the weekend and at least one if not two games midweek. It’s just bloody holidays when she goes ahead and books them without looking at the footie fixture lists or my golf competitions. She just says how do fancy this or how do fancy that, I just say yes that would be nice or that’s ok and a few hours later it’s booked. I then look in my diary and see everything it clashes with. I guess it’s my own fault but I hate getting involved in booking holidays, probably because being retired and living just 800m from the beach every day feels like a holiday. I guess I should just be grateful and enjoy it.

Hope if we're in the final that you're right and there will be tickets kicking around - will certainly be up for that trip!

Re: The Title Run In..........
The Championship Play Off Final usually attracts between 80,000 and 87,000 fans. The record attendance was the 2013-14 final between QPR v Derby County which was 87,348 with the capacity set at 90,000. There’s not been a sell out yet.

Just checked this, when we played the very last Play Off Final under the old twin towers v Barnsley the attendance was 73,424 plus me with my two daughters, 73,427.

Re: The Title Run In..........
As I said in my earlier post the only thing still missing is the kick off time which is expected to be the same as last season at 16.45. That’s weird DB, wouldn’t that have been 19.45 in Moscow or am I going the wrong way with my time difference ?Bluemike wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 11:08 amWell the final is set for Sunday May 26thDubai Blue wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 10:14 amHope if we're in the final that you're right and there will be tickets kicking around - will certainly be up for that trip!

This really surprises me, I assumed it would always be sold out! Is it because some corporate /neutral tickets don’t sell? I heard we’d get around 36k tickets - surely we’d sell that easily given we get almost 30k for home games and you need to be a member/buying them within 20mins of release at present.

I don't know how you do it, Charny. Bored to tears watching this crappy Blackburn game.
Can't really work out why, but ALL football seems to be getting really boring to me. Maybe it's the strictness of it all. Almost non contact. Play acting. Bores me to tears.
AFL starts March 14th......, the satellite package all booked ready to go for that. Proper sport.

I can understand that. I rarely sit down and watch matches from beginning until end unless it’s Ipswich. For me it’s got nothing to do with modern football, I just can’t be bothered unless it’s an important match. Most games start so early in the USA, I’m not one to watch television during the day. Maybe we’re all just getting old and the repetitive nature is getting boring?

Re: The Title Run In..........
Not sure why you’re watching boring Blackburn ? You could have watched West Ham 4 v 2 Brentford last night or Luton 2 v 5 Man City ( 60 mins played so far ) tonight and been thoroughly entertained. Most Premier League teams play a similar brand of football to what McKenna has introduced at Ipswich. For anyone who doesn’t like it, it can’t be much fun watching Ipswich other than the fact it’s our own team doing much better than we have been recently. Honestly boys if you watch enough of it and choose your games the quality of football is amazing. Even Sundays Carabao Cup final which I only watched the second half of was incredible, especially given Liverpool were without most of their regular first team players. I guess it’s more a case of whether you love watching top level football or simply enjoy watching your own team come what may. To be honest I enjoy both.marko69 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 10:09 pmI don't know how you do it, Charny. Bored to tears watching this crappy Blackburn game.

I watched the extra time and penalties, it didn't seem too bad a game in the end with Blackburn giving them s good run for third money.marko69 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 11:22 pmWell, it was also Eddie Howes Newcastle. Re: The Title Run In..........
Yeah you are right it must have been later than lunchtime. I think it was maybe a 3pm kickoff so must have been about 6pm Moscow time. Well before that particular bar (Boarhouse - not sure it still exists, very much a late evening place) had many clients.Charnwood wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 12:27 pmAs I said in my earlier post the only thing still missing is the kick off time which is expected to be the same as last season at 16.45. Since we emigrated to Spain if it wasn’t for sport and a couple of films each week it wouldn’t be worth us having a tv in the house as we watch very little else.valleyroad wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:57 pmI with you on this, i watch loads of football outside of the teams i follow. Re: The Title Run In..........
This run in is definitely not a fore gone conclusion and NIE looks wide open.
1) Leicester 35 25 3 7 78 pts
2) Ipswich. 35 22 9 4 75 pts
3) Leeds. 35 22 7 6 73 pts
4) Soton. 35 21 7 7 70 pts
Our destiny is now totally in our own hands with no reliance on any other teams results.
What a time for Leicester City and Leeds United to go on a wobble.

That’s what pressure does. I said when dropped out of top two the psychology changes from being hunted to being a hunter …. We now have to deal with that pressure of being hunted again…

Actually we’re both Liz as I’m beginning to think we could possibly catch Leicester now and prior the start of this 5 game winning streak this looked highly unlikely with only second place to play for.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 6:30 pmThat’s what pressure does. Just copied this League Table from 14 February !
1) Leicester 32 25 3 4 44 78 pts
2) Leeds. 32 20 6 6 33 66 pts
3) Southampton 31 19 7 5 23 64 pts
4) Ipswich. 31 18 9 4 19 63 pts
Compared with tonight;
1) Leicester 35 25 3 7 78 pts. (Nil points from last 3 games)
2) Ipswich. 35 22 9 4 75 pts. (12 points from last 4 games)
3) Leeds. 35 22 7 6 73 pts. (7 points from last 3 games)
4) Soton. 35 21 7 7 70 pts. (6 points from last 4 games)
What a difference 3/4 games can make.
1) Leicester 32 25 3 4 44 78 pts
2) Leeds. 32 20 6 6 33 66 pts
3) Southampton 31 19 7 5 23 64 pts

If we match what Leeds and Adair’s go over remaining 11 games, we’ll be promoted won’t we!

Re: The Title Run In..........
Win our remaining home games and draw our away games would give us a further 23 points to finish the season with 98 points. Surely that would be enough to get us one of the two automatic places ?
