Alongvwith w other players who have broken thd managers rules during the competition.
I expect they went out after curfew. Wonder how the Club will view this?

It should have no reflection on us he's our player now not his country, mind you if he goes against our rules and regulations then he will be severely punished surely he's not that stupid.

He's a crap goalkeeper and a sh*te influence, I would get rid of him now, no idea what McKenna was thinking on this one, bloody liability

Like Ashton said in one of husbintetviews ... we don't always get it right. This might be one of those occasions. There just seems to be a flaw in him doesn't there.

Blimey, some pretty strong reactions here given that we don't know what rule was broken. Why aren't we berating tin pot Kosovan FA for making stupid rules? We know nothing about what happened, and even if we do, who are we to judge? If a crime was committed I'll be happy to agree but otherwise, meh.

You aren't sent home for nothing, and aside from that he's a sh*te keeper

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
Not been impressed at all since coming in. Would rather have Hladky back in his place, at least with the latter you felt some level of reliability and proved over time won us considerable points due to his performance/s. Would he have done OK in the EPL, I don't know, but Muric just doesn't have the right feel about him. Even conceded three for Kosovans at international level a few days recent. Maybe it's too soon to pass judgment on the player but just not entirely happy with what he's produced thus far.
Don't know what infringement they're taking here, been some violation of national team rules but can't seem to discover what exactly he's been up to, along with two or three others. If dropped for national duty, guess it's something significant but they won't seem to disclose any tangible answer.

And Hladky has been on the bench in 3 of the 4 games played and still only got a two year contract.

I'm still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, both personality and ability wise, mainly because it's a huge c*ck up if he doesn't come good!
I still think he could be a very good keeper, but he needs to see to the issues in his game very quickly.

I reckon Town have decided to take the plunge with him in the hope they can iron out his risk taking or poor decision making, when he has the ball to feet.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
" Not for the first time" are the most alarming words with this story. The same as pre season when the Burnley fans were not impressed that he had apparently refused to return to pre season training. Too many things not good about this guy.

We all know that McKenna & co do their homework thoroughly on any player they sign. None of these personality quirks would be unknown to them. Yes he had one sh*t game but he’s also up for save of the month. It’s not like we’ve got another Brandon Williams on our hands. I say give him the benefit of the doubt for a couple of months while he spends time in the McK culture.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
Naturally he'll get a chance but equally do everything to endear yourself to the fans, I said prior to signing him that was a risk and I wasn't overly keen, nothing has changed my mind so far, quite the reverse.
It's true we don't know for sure he's definitely done something wrong but "not for the first time " doesn't auger well, nor does the refusal to return to pre season training, then we have the "nightclub incident" which is well documented among Burnley fans forums etc.

Can’t argue with your logic.. just fervently hoping he comes good!Bluemike wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 5:31 amNaturally he'll get a chance but equally do everything to endear yourself to the fans, I said prior to signing him that was a risk and I wasn't overly keen, nothing has changed my mind so far, quite the reverse.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
I know from first hand experience that some of the best people at their work can be the most difficult to manage and I guess footballers are no exception, Phil Foden being a classic example of footballer sent home from International duty for a wrongdoing. I also know from some of the stories shared by some of my ex pro footballer mates that a sneaky late drink is almost part of the fun when you’re away with the boys on tour or international duty, maybe less so now but these guys are still single young blokes possibly with a bit of defilement in their character and certainly Muric appears to have some of that.
I’m not for one minute condoning his behaviour but it maybe that his manager just finds him difficult to manage and has totally overreacted to something quite trivial. I assume after the Kosovian FA have carried out their investigation and published their statement we’ll have a better idea, but there are always two sides to every story. I think there maybe more to this than what we read in the headlines.
I’ll also be amazed if McKenna has the same problems managing him and if he does he’ll be gone.

I'm curious Mike why ,after one admittedly poor display, you are being so rudely dismissive of Muric's ability as a goalkeeper. KMc hasn't usually got it so wrong. I think we should back his judgement and give the man a chance. If he continues to make such disastrous mistakes ,then maybe you will be proved correct.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
Nothing to do with one game mate, there was a string of them last season too, pop on to the Burnley forums are read them, I just don't rate him, that's my right and I bet I will be proven correct, for what it worth I hope I'm wrong and he makes me look the fool.

Oh yes one game changes everything.
That said he was fantastic and I hope he is every week.

Somebody said we should have put Walton in goal today. If we had there’s no way we would come away from that game with a point.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
I think by sending Muic home from Internstional duty the Kosovo management team did us a huge favour as yesterday the big man had a massive point to prove and did if with style.
Below I’ve copied a piece written by Barry Morgan Smith the Chair of ITFC Official Supporters Club on their Facebook page which sums up what many are thinking;
We all have our different perspectives and catch moments in a game that we find significant.
Yesterday's for me, I hope will be season defining, we will see!
After making a huge double save, the Town fans behind Arno's goal rose as one with a fist clenching cry of "Muric, Muric...."
After that, he claimed crosses we've not seen claimed in years by a Town keeper, looked assured with his handling and firmly put that mad five minutes at the Etihad to bed. For those who had seen displays from Arno in pre-season like this, it was absolute vindication of our 100% faith in him.
This fella has the potential to be an absolute giant for us in more ways than one, I think all Town fans will now see why so many of us took to him instantly in July.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
As one of his critics I am really pleased for him, he was immense and we are going to need that. I'll always say my opinion on everyone and everything but equally I am never afraid to hold my hands up and say I was wrong on any subject, this is one game however, let's see where the next few weeks goes with Muric, he certainly got fans back on side yesterday.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
As I said in the match day thread I thought the fans were great yesterday. From the start they got right behind Muric and this seemed to give him confidence. Certainly this support is going to be required throughout the season, not just for Muric but the whole team.

Re: Muric kicked out of his Country's squad
I thinking there's a helluva togetherness and connection between the fans and thd players now. The support (noise) home and away is now phenomenal. I'm so proud of our Club now.
As for Muric, well this guy will have grown a further 10 feet tall after that performance in front of the Town fans yesterday. Hrs some keeper tbh. With a physical presence in the box we've not had in years at this Club. He's a bloody man mountain!
