Lost 4-3 to Brentford who are a very good team at their fuckin ground! And all I hear is whimpering from these so called fans. I’ve attended Ipswich matches since 1925 blah blah blah!
Get behind your team and manager and stop this whinging please!
I’ve got nothing positive to say this time. Hutch was better than Burns, but he still lost the ball numerous times. We’ve got problems all over the pitch, I’m not sure tweaking positions can even help. Completely agree KM needs to change tactics, otherwise there could be a thumping on the horizon. Spurs comfortably beat West Ham, the team that comfortably beat us.
Can anyone find any positives because I can’t at the moment. KM had plenty of time to get the squad ready for this, and they didn’t show up.

Shearer can f*ck off! I don’t care about your opinion or the statistics. If we get relegated we still get parachute payments. Yep, if we don’t get the win against Leicester we’ll be doomed. So what, did we really think we’d be auspicious with 100-mil investment against teams with more than 500-mil investment?
My American niece would say take a chill pill! Enjoy the ride and you better hope KM is still our manager if we do get relegated.
Sorry just tired of the negativity. We all knew this would be a huge challenge and to be honest I think we’ve battled and played some very good football. Individual errors have killed us, but you can’t blame that on the manager.
Whatever it’s just how I feel. Dealing with sh*t for more than 20 years makes me at least proudly accept we’re battling in the Prem!
But not the previous one after the Everton game ?AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 10:18 amGreat post ITFC2024.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 10:49 pmIs it me, or is anyone else getting tired of the same old rhetoric? I maintain that's harsh on Muric, as is the slow mo, it looks like he has all the time in the world. The reality Hallam as well, is that he has little idea where attackers or defenders are, he does not have time to look across and check, you can only have eyes for the ball in that situation, the rest is experience and instinct. Yes, he is wrong in my opinion, you always aim to leave yourself time to get to a cross if it looks like it's heading in... but just think for a second if he had dived for the corner to get to the cross and an attacker headed it in to the middle of an open net, everyone would be taping away on their keyboards about how 'he's so bad he even dives out the way of shots!!!1!'. You can't win, and you can't criticise until you've been a keeper at a decent level, it ain't easy.
Yeah, I am just as guilty as anyone. It just feels like there is a witch-hunt brewing, and the negativity is getting a bit excessive. Anyway, I didn't mean to offend anyone. Perhaps I was a bit harsh. Had a bad day. Cheers.Bluemike wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 6:09 amSays the guy who posted this after the Everton defeatITFC2024 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 11:25 pmSeriously, we’ve drawn with Fulham, Brighton, Villa who beat Bayern Munich ffs! It's not a witch hunt, to a point I agree we have to trust the process, all myself and one or two others are saying is for the odd time here and there we need to shy away from the norm and do something different, had we did that at 40 mins Saturday I firmly believe we win that game comfortably. Anyhow no need to apologise, I had a bad week last week which culminated in me saying I wish he'd pissed off to Brighton and hope we get relegated lol, heat of the moment stuff when things aren't great away from Football, it happens.ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 10:39 amYeah, I am just as guilty as anyone. You must have been some sh*t keeper RiccoRicco wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 10:36 amI maintain that's harsh on Muric, as is the slow mo, it looks like he has all the time in the world. And, now we come to the Tractor Boys Forum 2024 "Devils Advocate" post of the year award......., let's open this envelope here......., ooooo, exciting stuff eh? ........., ITS RICCO!Ricco wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 11:06 amI think a lot of the negative reaction is because we performed so well in the first 5 games that it's been shock that we've seemed to have gone backwards, rather than building on that start.
It's blowing off steam, I really wouldn't read in to negative comments too much at the moment, it's emotional, we're victims of our own success, expectations are ridiculous. I keep thinking back to the game and the good moments, only to then remember that we ended up losing, it hurts and is infuriating. That's why I only stay on this forum, if you've read elsewhere and become annoyed at fan's reactions, then that's your own faultIt's reasonable on here, yes there's moaning and some crazy proposals of tactic and personnel changes, but no one is too serious about it, we all knew it was going to be a ridiculously hard season and that McKenna and the squad has done so much good already.
Marco, I'm 83 and the BR time when he took over as manager was turbulent BUT it was certain players not wanting to conform to how Bobby wanted them to play and there were a few dressing room and training ground fights so Bobby in the end got rid of the trouble makers it took some time but eventually getting players he wanted in and as they say the rest is historymarko69 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 2:56 pmI think regardless of what Curtains said, that part in bold (and the entire post really) is what matters. "Word" Ranger. I think when fans start listening to what the other teams bosses are saying AHEAD of sticking with the managers visions of HIS team, then its a bit of a lost cause. I think if more fans jump on that f**king bandwagon, then he and Mashton are farting against thunder.RRanger wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 2:24 pmThere was definitely a bit of panic (not for the first time) in the last 5 minutes in our defending in the first half when Brentford scored their 2 goals but I would suggest it was partly Brentford actually wresting back the initiative with some very good play and ,yes, sloppy panicky defending. There is a well known aphorism about the best form of defence being attack and like most aphorisms it has more than a grain of truth ,and I believe it sums up K Mc's philosophy of football and most of the time it has worked well, except in my memory before this season ,our two games against Leeds .I believe he will stick to this philosophy in how he wants our team to play and is trusting that some of these very good performances so far this season will be wins rather than draws . Lets hope that happens sooner rather than later. It was an extraordinary performance by a very understrength Ipswich team for most of the first halfand as someone who was at the game ,they literally blew Brentford away for the first 40 minutes as Tomas Frank basically said in his interview after the game. No other side have done that to Brentford ,certainly at home, so far this season. I'm sure Mckenna will be as worried as we all are about the defending to let them back into the game but remember we were without crucial players and particularly our first choice defenders.
I have read the history of ITFC along with Bobby Robsons autobiography in the past........, the whole thing smacks of the early 70s when people wanted him out. I'm sure guys older than Wilf or Mike or Rossi may be able to shed more light being part of that era, ...... speaking of Shed, maybe you Tony? Or Charnwood? Or LnP? Or even the City SLICKER, Ashfordblue? Must've been sh*t. ......., and then it ALL turned to FA Cups & UEFA Cups.
YES, different era, but definitely 100% relative with maybe the exception of the modern day "TOP 6" ---->> all relative.
The only way Ricco this would work would be a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation similar to Liverpool's usual starting formation always keeping two wide strikers Salah and Gakpo for the long ball attack from defence, but also we will need a back four as strong as Liverpool's ours is still too fragile and must be rebuiltRicco wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 11:42 amWell I would point out that with Hutchinson central we've average 0.75 goals a game and without him central we've averaged 3 goals a game.
Also Hirst managed a goal and assist in 31 minutes, which Hutchinson hasn't managed in 707 minutes.
Ridiculous cherry picked stats aside, I think it's really tricky to pick a front 4 at the moment, Hirst has made a good case for himself, Szmodics scored again, and Delap has bagged the most. I do however know that I'd only ever allow Hutchinson on the right. I hope McKenna finds something on the training ground that clicks, he's done it in the past, I have faith he'll do it again, I've just lost so much confidence in him due to his use of Hutchinson this term.
The problem with getting Hirst and Delap in the team is how? Considering we've been haemorrhaging goals, is picking a more attacking front line really the best way forward?
