Stuck with an away win (0-1 in my case) in the Prediction League (and with Szmodics as first scorer woohoo) too. Just wish I was a betting man haha.
I get the nature of all the discussions on here, it's
good for this site, but prefer to have faith in those in the hot seat of the club. I believe KM said something along the lines of it being November before we would see players getting up to speed.
We are driving a Mini in a F1 race and that level of disparity deserves a lot more credit. KM is still learning, he will make his changes in personnel and formation when he sees it as our best means of getting a result. Of course mistakes are going to be made and I'm sure Ange will be getting more than his fair share of questions from the Spurs fans today.
Like you Marko, I'm just laughing (respectfully as I can) at all these 'see what a difference a few tweaks can make'. KM made any changes on the basis of who he had available as well as the best way to counter Spurs' approach.
But anyway, what a fantastic result today. We should be celebrating back to back wins in truth, but offer me 4 points before these last two games were played and I'd have probably done myself an injury taking your arm off!
BW, I was enjoying your views on the game until the highlighted part!Blue Wilf wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:29 pmOn way home. What a day! We were excellent all day. Cajuste, Johnson, Morsy and Delap the pick of the bunch for me but they were all superb. The defence especially. We were clinical on attack, reckless and solid in defence. McKenna was even slightly more defensive when needed and didn't do the standard subs - just some fresh legs. Even Muric deserves a pat on the back as he was taking a lot of stick from the Spurs fans who were awful - so quiet all game until they scored. I can't remember them singing a song other than one rendition of them going marching in. We outsung them all game. Oh and by the way - this had little to do with 'the process' whatever that is - it was just hard work, playing for each other, being clinical and not being reckless. Just what the doctor ordered on so many levels. Bring on Man Utd!
Didn’t see or hear the match today as I’m away on holiday. Just followed the updates on the sky sports app and flicking over to this site. Couldn’t find a pub in La Palma showing it unfortunately.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:12 pmI always felt a win was on the way today. I feel that "hard work, playing for each other," is very much part of the "process". Togetherness of the squad and hard work is precisely what got us to where we are and will serve to push us forward.
I don't care what its called right now if I am honest but hard work etc does not get you wins (as previous games have proved), it is the ability to play to the needs of the game. Lets agree to disagree as I can't be arsed to argue as I am emotionally knackered!marko69 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 7:10 pmF K I N G BINGO!!!!AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 7:00 pmBW, I was enjoying your views on the game until the highlighted part!Blue Wilf wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:29 pmOn way home. Being pedantic here
This was the match sheet line up handed to the broadcasters
Yes, I noticed that too. I had originally included it in a reply to Mike further up the thread, but seeing Johnson on the right hand side of the attacking unit, while I guess not totally impossible, did seem highly unlikely.
The BBC regularly make mistakes with footie stats, eg they were still showing Town drawing at Brentford 2 mins after The Bees scored their late winner. I’ve also fallen foul of their errors when I’ve used their “shots on target” numbers for the Prediction League only to find out later they’ve changed their number later in the evening to match the numbers used by SkyTV. I’m not sure if it’s carelessness or simply lack of resources.
They’ve probably got so used to it they haven’t changed their template.
Good call the other day.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 7:05 pmI can’t believe how much I enjoyed watching that game from the moment I saw our 3:4:3 line up and from there on my day just got better.
Maybe some of the doubters on here will now start believing we actually do stand a chance of avoiding relegation and if we achieve that I will be very happy.
I actually feel Town have been competitive in the PL all season. Had quite a few injuries to key players and have been on the wrong side of the breaks. Team is learning evey week at this level. Middle to front been decent, defensively had to improve.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 7:05 pmI can’t believe how much I enjoyed watching that game from the moment I saw our 3:4:3 line up and from there on my day just got better.

I think the injuries to Tuanzebe and Greaves were particularly damaging and played a significant part in some of Muric’x blunders without him having the confidence of having them around him particularly when defending set pieces. In my opinion Tuanzebe is probably our best defender in these situations and if was a great bonus having him back today.valleyroad wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 8:34 pmI actually feel Town have been competitive in the PL all season. Role on to Man Utd at PR, which will be very interesting game
