Hahaha! Come on now! He’s probably the HS football coach and got stuck with a remedial class due to DOGE layoffs!marko69 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:50 pmSomeone sh*t at football and sh*t at golf. Wow, that was sh*t. No wonder the comments are deactivated.
I’m amazed by this Wilf, almost 100% of my Brexit mates and family members who voted in favour never mention the subject anymore for fear of total embarrassment. It certainly comes to something when Spains economy is growing more than three times faster annually than the UK’s which suggests to me Brexit was a f**king disaster. The only tangible benefit I’ve found so far are tampons in the UK are now exempt from vat which the EU didn’t allow.Blue Wilf wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 2:42 pmAs opposed to the dumbfucker remoaners amongst us who still cannot accept a democratic vote 9 years after the event? I also think that most smart countries will be trying to diversify away from US now in all defence and economic areas.Charnwood wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 11:51 pmI’m amazed by this Wilf, almost 100% of my Brexit mates and family members who voted in favour never mention the subject anymore for fear of total embarrassment. The UK should have followed Spain’s example of being an EU member country but ignoring the rules that it disagrees with. It seems to work quite well and most people here are happy with it.
As for Trump, I guess he’s still not worked out that the only reason America imports goods is because they can’t manufacture everything profitably in the US that its people need. I certainly didn’t meet many Americans who were singing his praises when I was over there for the last couple of weeks, in fact circa 100% of them thought he was crazy and out of control.
Who ever we think of when the term dumbfucker is used surely Trump has to be somewhere close to the top of the list.
Brexit wasn't the disaster - the idiots in charge who decided not to implement it was the issue. The establishment did not like the answer the people gave so they ignored it - that's why Reform are currently booming. The EU is a busted flush and certainly no model to follow in my view! Still, I think brexit is the least of our issues (UK, EU or the rest of the world) right now...Charnwood wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 11:51 pmI’m amazed by this Wilf, almost 100% of my Brexit mates and family members who voted in favour never mention the subject anymore for fear of total embarrassment. UK needs to move closer to Europe for that reason as it our biggest trading partner by far.
Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster for the UK and is now considered to have an impact greater than covid.
It was pretty damn obvious at the time how much of a disaster Brexit was going to be. It really didn't take a lot to work that out.
I'm hoping Labour government does the smart thing and align closer to Europe as much as it can. One day we may get the chance to reverse the stupidity of it.
Nationalism and populism lead a country nowhere as the US is about to find out but we have plenty of it in the UK with Reform. Good god Andrea Jenkyns is about to elected as a Major !!
Having said all that this quote from Charnwood undermines Europe and allows people like Farage to fester.
"The UK should have followed Spain’s example of being an EU member country but ignoring the rules that it disagrees with"
Still way better to be part of in the round.
Ah the good old it wasn't implemented properly. You’re unlikely to hear remainers resident in Spain moaning about Brexit as we’ve been huge beneficiaries of the UK’s complete f*ck up, especially those of who are retired with Index linked pensions. After Brexit many Brits like myself who previously lived 6 months iin the UK and 6 months abroad decided to sell up and leave. That’s exactly what we did on 1 January 2019, and on the back of the UK’s subsequent high inflation in the period since then our incomes have increased by nearly 40%. With Spains inflation over the same period running at less than 20% this has given us a huge “Brexit Bonus” and a significant uplift in expendable income and improved living standards. So much so that any “pissed off” feelings completely evaporated a long time ago. In fact the only Brits here you’ll hear moaning about Brexit are second home owners who didn’t bite the bullet and emigrate and have had their lives screwed by the British Government who failed to negotiate any improvement to the Schengen 90 day rule which limits the number of days they are allowed to stay in Europe in any 180 day period. This group of people are seriously pissed off and resentful of Brexit and who can blame them.Blue Wilf wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:44 pmAh - the old remoaner refrain... the comedy gift that keeps on giving.
