A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

Neil Young, again. Have to say there aren’t too many reputable music recommendations on here. Maybe I’m not old enough to enjoy what is usually posted. Or, maybe I like good music?
'Good Music' vanished around 1987 and never returned. Since then it's been a mash of garbage. Not the entire time, not constant, but more often than not.
Last few days have taken in Sparks, Chicory Tip and Zager and Evans, kids today would have no idea but back at a time the industry was in it's greatest period. A few years on but you got Tears for Fears for good measure. Pale Shelter is an amazing track, after a recent listen it's arguably one of their very best. Unfortunately it will always take back seat to more recognized releases i.e. Shout and EWTRTW et cetera.

Agree. Pale Shelter was the first TFF track I ever heard.

Listening to Van Morrison again.
Mausara I have a question for you: Have you ever been asked to DJ a wedding reception or party of sorts? I don’t have a lot of disposable income anymore, but I’m willing to bet everything the answer is NO!

Superb stuff, 24. Everyone loves a bit of 10CC. And that is a great "live" performance.
Got to say man....., you are very like a former poster on here we called "9"...., bit of a psycho but he is well missed. He posted stuff like the "Missed Opportunities" thread and finding kittys in car parks etc etc....., nice wee tales. (And tails I suppose!)

Yeah well, I can understand 9’s plight. We’re all victims of life’s adversity …sometimes it’s too much to handle and many of us crack. But it’s great reminiscing with old songs that remind us of the easier times in life. Of course, the one thing that’s got me through all of that is my sense of humour, but sometimes it isn’t funny. I’m not giving up, though. I’m still here!

Recently added 'Sheet Music' to my stash, that is one weird as heck record.

Before Graham Gouldman joined they were a three-piece called Hotlegs. Who remembers
Neanderthal Man?

That is a weird record indeed.

But if people make it past 1:30, then it definitely is an entertaining wee ditty with humorous lyrics.
And I always get mixed up with Lol Creme & Bon Scott.
Hadn't heard Neanderthal Man before but it has made me think of a song called "Corners" by the awesome (and still going) Neo Proggers, IQ.

i like Eno's stuff, not really into that ambient thing but sometimes he emerges out of it enough to make a tune you can tap your feet to

Ferry has always looked like he’s suffering from Narcolepsy…….. seconds from nodding off!
Didn’t know he played keyboards either. Thought he was just the guy up front with the Burtons suit & hairdo.

Eno was on the first two Roxy Music albums then he went solo, 'Stranded', their third is the one Eno reckoned their best though. That one was all down to Ferry really.
I do like their first album which ITFC2024 linked to, I guess my favourite though is the title track from
'For Your Leisure', the 2nd LP,

Yeah, must admit, ...., not a fan of Roxy Music, BUT ..., wouldn't skip any of their tunes. They're pretty good. Just not a fan.

After listening to “For Your Leisure” it makes me realize why Roxy Music didn’t really make it to the big time.
Sounds like minstrels in the Queen’s chambers.
Or should I say menstruals?

Stage performances aren't the same as video works. The musical impact just isn't of the same level.
Say again believe it's one of their greatest releases ever and best way to enjoy it is video format with say Alligators, Smith and Orzabal under attack from paper airplanes etc. 1983 was a supreme time for music and had TFF been a bigger or more established act at time or release the single would surely have performed better.
As an aside the You Tube imbed function exists here but last tried it's not possible to use it. Something for the tech team maybe, would appreciate if this minor issue could be resolved sometime.

You should be able to copy the link and paste it. That’s what I always do.

It's not the link at top of page that's the issue but embedding the actual video content into a post. It could be done here at one or time another but past attempts failed, guess the function is no longer operational.
Tried it again, it's a no go.
For relevance they got Shaking Stevens on right now, This Old House.
For anyone not of a certain age, here was a lame attempt Welsh Elvis Presley that worked for a time in the early 1980's but soon disappeared off scene. Admittedly some of the tracks are good but does help if you're of an age to recall.
