A loan is key, IF he goes somewhere and isn't asked to play out, but just focus on dominatig the box and stopping shots - he can rebuild his rep and might be worth something.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
Alfie Gilchrist is set to leave Chelsea on a permanent transfer this summer, Ipswich Town are one Championship club interested.
The Tractor Boys may well be looking for a right back after Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has confirmed his club is interested in signing free agent Blues defender Axel Tuanzebe.

Interesting, I see he was at Sheffield UTD last season and played 30 times. 21 years old.Bluemike wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 7:50 amAlfie Gilchrist is set to leave Chelsea on a permanent transfer this summer, Ipswich Town are one Championship club interested.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Thread / Rumours
I would be very pleased if Brownhill ended up here, wouldn't say no to Travis either.Town are reported to be keeping tabs on out-of-contract Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill.
The 29-year-old netted 18 times and recorded six assists for the Clarets in the Championship last season as he skippered them to promotion back to the Premier League after one year away.
Warrington-born Brownhill has been in talks with Burnley, who he joined in 2020 from Bristol City on a free transfer, about a new deal but with no agreement yet reached.
The one-time Manchester United schoolboy, who broke through at Preston North End and had a spell on loan at Barnsley, has been linked with West Ham and Everton, but, according to journalist Alan Nixon, the Blues are also keen.
Town are looking to add to their midfield this summer with Massimo Luongo having been released and loanee Kalvin Phillips having gone back to Manchester City.
The Blues want another of their loanees, Jens Cajuste, back at Portman Road but manager Kieran McKenna has said that a deal to sign the Swedish international from Napoli wouldn’t be an easy one.
However, it seems unlikely that Brownhill would pass up the chance of a return to the Premier League, especially if there is anything in the reports of interest from established top-flight sides like the Hammers and Toffees.
Elsewhere, former Town loanee Lewis Travis is reported to be holding out on a contract offer from Blackburn with a year left on his current terms.
The Blues are understood to be among a number of clubs keeping a watching brief with newly promoted Wrexham and Birmingham City both linked.
Travis, 27, spent the second half of 2023/24 at Portman Road, making four starts and five sub appearances.

Brownhill would be an awesome signing, I can't see it happening, he will surely go to a PL club (and not one of the newly promoted ones).Bluemike wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 10:24 amI would be very pleased if Brownhill ended up here, wouldn't say no to Travis either.Town are reported to be keeping tabs on out-of-contract Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill.

Travis, meh - nice guy and not a bad player but we need better, IMO we really need to go and get the best we can (in our current situation) and I don't think Travis is the best we can do. We need to keep pushing the water level higher.

We do need better as the starting pair but for me Travis is certainly a fair bit better than Taylor

Different players, but I'd certainly agree Travis is alot more suited to playing in a 2 the way KM plays. I think Taylor would actually work much better in a 433, where you have 1 sitting and 2 more box to box CM's.

But is McKenna likely to change formation any time soon ? For me that's a great big no which renders Taylor surplus to requirements, he may as well go.

Yeah I'd agree with that, likely won't change and he feels a bit of a sqaure peg for a round hole.

I think a couple of PL clubs are tracking this player so doubt we’ll get him….
