I hadn't heard of him but he was listed as a right winger/attacker when I looked him up. He looks quite small, so I can't imagine he is a beefy CM?

Oh ok, even so I'd still be keen, I mean look at our wingers....

Burns - injured and missing start of season
Ogbene- injured and no idea if and when back
Clarke - Hmmmmm
Philogene- Hopeless
Hutchinson- Probably play central if still here.

So I'm not overly sure we have an abundance of strength in the wide areas to start the season.

Note that alot of these players were VERY good at THIS level. Why can't they still be good this year at THIS level?

If we bring in more who is to say they will be better at PREM level? i.e what is the point in bringing in more in the areas we already have proven players at this level (and spent alot on) - makes zero sense to me sorry.

Focus the money where we NEED it...........CM x2 and a striker.

2 are potentially still crocked, one has shown me nothing to suggest he'll be the answer, one just isn't played wide that often which leaves Clarke who hopefully refinds his form, personally I don't think when the season starts we are very strong in that area at all.

Also Szmodics also plays under KM in that inside left wing role, another proven at this level.

I certainly think we have enough strength in depth there, personally.

You can even play Johnson RW if needed and he would
Be good enough to be decent at this level.

This is my issue, chucking players into positions where they can do a job, Szmodics was the bloody top scorer in the championship, he needs to play as a number Ten, while Johnson really is a Defender, round pegs in round holes not "he can play there" stuff.

Yeah I get that Mike, I just mean as an option whilst someone else gets back from injury.

I think the KM 'left ten' is fairly inside as Davis bombs on wide etc, but I agree I'd like to see Szmodics play the central 10, he should be lethal in that 'chaplin role'.

The other thing is Shabba, will Hutchinson and Johnson still be here ? I'm a little surprised there has been virtually nothing on the team building front so far

I think he might be, 40% ;) *at present!

Depends how he does at the u21 euros.

What do you mean re team building, as in transfers? Or you mean pre season team building events?

I think most clubs haven't done much business yet, as its still early in the window, alot of players on holiday and also it takes time for the 'domino effect' of other transfers etc. I think we will need to be patient as always, players will be assesing their options and biding their time.

Yes team building, agreed very early but under Ashton and co we've always been very quick out of the blocks, at least with links and tangible rumours but very little of any substance so far. There is a small part of me that thinks the longer the quietness drags on is it because KM's position is not cut and dried ?

Your over thinking it 😂

Look at the average confirmed transfer dealings for each club, I bet it’s less than 1 per team on average (championship) - max 2 at the very most.

AI tells me it’s two singings on average per club. We aren’t the only ones with 0.

Trabzonspor now concerned about Axel's injury record, so should we be, get rid, don't want any sicknotes here, they end up being a costly liability.
Hopefully, they'll walk away now. Axel is a class act and we need him.
I agree Tuanzebe is a very good defender. His worst injury was a freak accident in the kitchen not on the pitch. He should excel in the Championship.

I think our delayed transfer activity has more to do with not knowing which players will leave yet. KM has stated he’s committed to Town at the moment. Of course, that may change.

Mike, think of it like back in the day in a nightclub, you have a good look around - see what the options are, ensure you’ve fully scanned the market for the best available and then make your move. you don’t want to be cashing in the first option.

SHABBA!

Anyway…..I’m not panicking - it’s barely been a couple of weeks and there are months to go.

I had alot of successful transfer windows back in the day, especially when shopping abroad. Alot of good talent in the Brazilian and Australian leagues.

Now I’m settled and happy with my current squad.

Back in the day I wanted to get in quick for the one that really caught my eye and appealed to me before someone else jumped in quick and I was left with second best, that method always worked for me.

Haha valid Mike! Nobody wants to get involved in a transfer battle/saga 😂.

Anyway I was thinking on that point, we don’t need to have signed anyone by now as in my view nobody else has signed a player id have wanted at town, and pre season hasn’t begun.

I can't help thinking the lack of even a link or two relates more to KM's position than anything else but who knows. I still for the life of me cannot think of a single good reason why Brentford may decide to go with a total and utter unknown in management, let alone in the PL but time will tell.

Ashton did an interview the other week for EADT / KOA and stated talks are ongoing with some targets.

The club will have their lists and be working on things, it’s just a hard time to do deals this early - as anyone good would have a lot of interest.

There's nothing coming out of the club about anything though is there. Two weeks ago MA said there was an imminent reveal of our new sponsors.......nothing! 🤷‍♀️
I have no doubt we are in talks with players, and if McKenna decides to jump something. Although I'm actually quite relaxed about it and don't feel he will leave. I honestly can't see Brentford coming for him, it's too big a risk.

I think the players must return to pre season first week July. That's when news will start to trickle out....

They can’t announce that I’d imagine until end of June as the current sponsor is active. Same for the kits reveal, they need to wait and that’s only fair on Ed.

I’d say ‘imminent’ qualifies for end of June 👍.

Also the club won’t announce any thing transfer wise until the deals are actually done and player is holding the shirt etc.

I think he meant Keith Andrews being appointed as the unknown not KM.

He is their set piece coach, I think he might have a link to town somewhere in his past too.

He is the odds on favourite- which is a bit surprising.
