Wigan against Sunderland on Tuesday
Seems to be the question on everyone's minds at the moment...
...What result is everyone here hoping for in Wigan / Sunderland match?
The way I see it, every result has advantages and disadvantages for us, but after a lot of consideration I think a draw would be best.
A Sunderland win would essentially see us chasing only 2nd place against one other team, with only Wigan screwing up being advantageous to us.
Wigan win mixes it all up a lot, but makes it harder for us to pass them as their goal diff is better. Though it leaves 3 teams chasing 2 places.
Draw keeps Sunderland from running away with it just yet, keeps things relatively tight and still means we are competing for 1st and 2nd with 2 other teams. If Sunderland thn screw up it's wide open, but if they win, they can afford a bad patch and get away with it.
That's how I see it, but maybe I'm missing something!
Thoughts?

Whatever happens it's gonna be tight right until the final day more likely than not. Just take a simplistic view at the odds...Paul B wrote:I personally would prefer a draw or Wigan win...would rather be going for two places than just one.
Of course though, whatever happens, to make it mean anything we have got to beat Rotherham!
2 teams, 1 place to fight for = 50% chance of getting a place
3 teams, 2 places = 66% chance
I know it's more complicated than that, but I really think a draw is best, it keeps more options open, especially if we can beat Sunderland!

I think you may be right Tom, although second choice a Sunderland win with Wigan then going into free fall.Draw keeps Sunderland from running away with it just yet, keeps things relatively tight and still means we are competing for 1st and 2nd with 2 other teams.
