Now me and Toby had a massive debate last year about this very topic and I wanted to bring it up again.
If you could choose what would you prefer, Ipswich to be the Champions or to win the Play Off Final? I personally think its a tough one and probably the play off final wins it for me.
Let me explain before you rip my head off! We
ALL follow football because it entertains us. Surely 3 extra games and 40,000 Ipswich fans at Cardiff seeing us win our way to the Premiership is far better than being champions?

has to be champions!! Winning the play-offs could mean you finished 6th and then won 2 games. Which to me isnt really worthy of promotion. The top 3 teams are the teams are the 3 teams that have played well for a big majority of the season and have got there by right. By winning the championship it means you won more (or the same amount if you win it on goal difference) than anyone else and surely thats gota mean more than finishing 6th and getting lucky in the playoffs?

Play-offs, more financially rewarding for the club, and Cardiff is a great day out. Finishing third (joint with 2nd) and going though play-offs would be good as third technically deserves promotion anyway.

As a fan if you could guarantee a victory in the play off final then thats the way to go up as we know, what a blast!
However, if I was running the club I would want our fate decided at the beginning of May not the end! This would give more time for budget preperations, player contracts, identifying and approaching targets etc, etc.
There is also one other minor problem, with our current side's poor away record and inability to keep a clean sheet we will probably f*ck it up regardless

First division (championship) play-offs are unbearable. So, up as champions (or even second place) would be prefered. BUT that Wembley game was the best game I've ever been to.... To be honest, I just want us to go up and I don't care how!

given a guarenteed Playoff final win I'd take that simply because West Ham wouldn't go up this season. and couple extra games and the final would be a nice early birthday present.

Definately rather 1st or 2nd even. Anything but those damn play-offs. They aren't worth the stress.
