Skard - Barred
Norwegian trialist Vemund Brekke Skard will not be able to join the Blues until the transfer window opens in January. The Brumunddal midfielder has been deemed a professional rather than an amateur and is therefore subject to transfer window restrictions.
Skard, 24, has not been paid a wage by Brumunddal but TWTD understands that travel expenses for his weekly 220-mile round trip from his home in Oslo have caused him to be classified as a professional.
The two clubs, the football authorities in England and Norway and Skard's agent have spent today clarifying the player's situation with the conclusion that he is unable to make the move outside of a transfer window.
Skard, whose contract with Brumunddal is up on Monday, has agreed to sign a deal until the summer of 2007.

He is VERY fit now by all accounts- but I agree with you , he can "acclimatise" to professional footie and get to know the "Ipswich Way" without the pressure that goes with performing in front of us lot !Paul B wrote:Will give him a chance to get fitter and get to know the team better and settle in, presuming he will be training with us from Monday?

FIFA really need to get the fingers out their asses and sort out what was once the beautiful game - with more redtape and regulations than your average corgi registered gas men!!
The guy is an amateur, he isn't paid to be a FULL TIME footballer - hence the teacher training. FIFA are actually messing with people's potential lives here. If for some unknown reason this transfer never takes place this guy may not ever get the opportunity to show what he can actually do.
The old gits at FIFA need to be cleaned out with a new younger group of people representing all nations and abilities coming together!!
