George Foulkes has sensationally resigned as chairman of Heart of Midlothian.

The Edinburgh club are still reeling from the recent exit of manager George Burley, who is understood to have quit due to interference from owner Vladimir Romanov.

It has also been revealed that chief executive Phil Anderton was sacked at an earlier board meeting, prompting Foulkes to walk out in protest.

It is believed that Romanov and Anderton clashed during discussions concerning the possible appointment of Claudio Ranieri as a replacement for Burley

Roman Romanov?

His dad certainly didn't make his money through his creativity and imagination did he?

I guess he's the Lithuanian version of Neville Neville or Magnus Magnusson!

I think it's a real shame if they do crash and burn now, I was really looking forward to someone challenging the Old Firm and making Scottish football a bit more interesting again.

Also the Burley factor was making me take an interest in Hearts fortunes and I was glad they were doing well.

Oh well I guess I'll have to follow the other ex-Ipswich managers at Motherwell and Hibernian.

Although I would like to see Hearts do well, I would much rather Hibs were the team to break the mold in the SPL - small stake, big return if they pull it off

Burleys wife has had a go at Romanov as well. In the paper today she was saying they went round to romanovs house for a meal and when they got there he had already eaten and was the rudest man she had ever met.

Such a shame for hearts, had high hopes for some fun in the SPL this year and with Burley in charge made it more intresting.

Also I was loving the Mogga vs Burley, who will do the best, rivalry that was there. It meant that for the first time in my life i actually looked at the Scottish league before the end of the season (just to check who won).
