You are right BB. Most of the first team now were not academy players. You have to have been born and bred in Ipswich to have that passion.
As long as we don't lose all of the youngsters, we will have some great Derby games in the future.

Slight contradiction there, only Liam Trotter, Stuart Ainsley and Darryl Knights were actually born in Ipswich from the Academy Squad.Blue Susie wrote: You are right BB. Most of the first team now were not academy players. You have to have been born and bred in Ipswich to have that passion.

I think what Susie meant, is that these lads coming through the academy live and grow up in the Town, and therefore understand what it means to beat the scum!essexboy21 wrote:Slight contradiction there, only Liam Trotter, Stuart Ainsley and Darryl Knights were actually born in Ipswich from the Academy Squad.Blue Susie wrote: You are right BB. OK, but I wouldn't agree with that statement anyway. At no point in my life have I lived in or around Ipswich yet I have just as much passion for beatin Naarj as anyone who's lived there for all their life...bluebird wrote:

Sorry but I didn't make myself clear. A lot of these lads have been with the academy for years and watch all the first team games. I am sure that they have more understanding of the derby games than players who come in on loan for a couple of months or who have only just started playing for Town.
