Does Anybody On here Really believe
that we have any realistic chance of making the playoffs this season?
Since the 18th October we have played Coventry (twice), Watford, Brighton, Derby and Plymouth and picked up a grand total of 7 points out of a possible 18. Now with all due respect to these teams I will be very suprised if any of them finish in the top 6 come the end of season.
Would love to be proved wrong but just can't see it happening.

We still realisticaly can finish in the playoffs. But I personaly think we have lost too many home games already to make it.

I think that we do have the players and team to get in playoffs. I also agree that a team in our position in the table at this stage is by no means unable to make a playoff challenge.
However from what i have seen i dont believe we will. Yes the players we have could get the results needed but i dont see it happening. Tactically we often look impotent and/or clueless, something that is often mirrored up front, while often at the back we are rock solid while sometimes we are plain crap.
Yes often we look a good team worthy of the top 6 but this season we just dont look like that often enough.
I also hope im very wrong but ill have to see it to believe it.

I think we have the players to do it...........it just depends upon whom is played and how. So I guess my answer is..........if Royle continues as manager we've got no chance.essexgirl wrote:that we have any realistic chance of making the playoffs this season?

81 points still up for grabs - this season will go to the wire - this division is tighter than a pair of 80's rock stars jeans!!!Ojc wrote:Of course we have a chance, we are 19 games into the season and only 4 points off of 4th place for crying out loud.
We will be there come the end of the season.
We have as much chance of making it as about another 14 teams in this division!!! COuld see the smallest tally of points ever for a play-off place!!!
If we got some consistency together and learnt to row Z it in defence we might just sneak it!!

After last nights pathetic showing I once again ask the question.
What really annoys me the most about last night is Reading won 3-0 without even having to break into a sweat.
I know footballing wise we couldn't compete with them but at least we could have shown a bit of passion even if it meant putting a couple of their players on their ar$e and picking up a few yellow cards. At least then Reading would have known they were in a game.
A long hard winter lies ahead!
