Sam Parkin has expressed his disappointment to the Club website after hearing the news that he could be out for up to four months with a broken ankle.
The 24-year-old striker limped off after 17 minutes of Town's defeat by Reading last night and scans have revealed that the injury is a break.
"I'm obviously sick about it. I knew I had done something as soon as it happened but I wasn't sure what," says Sam.
"I'm not exactly sure how it happened either. I was caught by their centre-half and then got my studs stuck in the pitch as well as I turned. It could have been a combination of both.
"I knew I had to come off and left the ground on crutches but it was murder when I went to bed and the ankle had swollen right up.
"I'm seeing the specialist later today and he will make a decision on whether I need surgery or not but I'm expecting that to be the case.
"It's the first time I have suffered a break so I'm not sure what the recovery time is but it's a bitterly disappointing, whatever it is."
