DeVos says Yoga is the key!

Post by Bluebird » Wed Dec 07, 2005 5:34 am

Ipswich vice-captain Jason De Vos thinks he has found the key to bringing Championship success to the Portman Road club.

He is one of the players who takes part in regular yoga sessions before training and the 31-year-old Canada international said: "It warms up muscles before training and I don't look on it as being 'Nancy' in any way.

"We have had our fair share of injuries this season, but very few have been hamstrings, calves or quads.

"Our instructor, Hayley Winter, makes the sessions very interesting and she adapts them to suit the more supple among us like goalkeeper Shane Supple and the less-than-supple like myself."

The early sessions last between 30 and 45 minutes and some players have another session as a method of warming down.

"There is no doubt that it is beneficial and about half the first-team squad take part on a regular basis," added De Vos.
